5 reasons why I should make time to blog.

I love it when I get the chance to blog, when I have an idea about a post and it all comes together. Or even when I just blog about my son and my pregnancy, which is all I seem to be doing lately. I've always wanted to find something that is 'my' thing, and blogging is very much it for me!

I've followed so many blogs over the years and so many times, after another baby, they seem to dwindle or just completely stop.

I know time doesn't come easy, and I know there's so many more important things to do!And I know any spare time, is sleep time! But I would love to keep making time for me.

I looked up some tips on making time to blog and thought I would share them with you!

  1. Schedule posts to be published for when you do have the time.

Sometimes I'll have no time, I understand that... but there's times, like right now, I do... so my plan is to get a few posts done and schedule them to be published for later.
  2. Choose to have time to blog.

This is really a mentality thing. As Sara points out her in her blog, we all choose to do things. I always wind down with some TV in the evening. It's really important to me to have something that I enjoy doing, so I need to choose to have time to do it... Like I just chose to have a nap ;).
  3. Finding topics I love to write about.

Obviously I love writing about my children, and those posts always, well mostly always, get done! Finding a list of topics that I love to write about and share will help.
  4.  Blog call outs.

I love doing blog call outs because not only I get to share my blog, I get to know more about my favourite bloggers, I keep my blog running when I'm feeling uninspired (about writing and time!)
(I'm currently doing a guest post call out on my Facebook page for post partum depression ect)
  5. Continue to share, to find new readers, to inspire more posts!

It's amazing what a little bit of encouragement can do. I love reading comments on my blog, they really encourage me to keep blogging!

Here's some more posts if you're looking for more blog writing inspiration!

Hopefully I can come back to this post in a few months time and feel super inspired to keep blogging with my growing family!

Life this minute..

So I haven't blogged for about a month now! It's been crazy times in this little household of mine, but I think I'm ready to get back into it, how do I get back into it again?! How do I juggle blogging/ Social Media / a toddler.. and, oh, being pregnant!

WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!!

(Photography by the amazing TK's Photography)

As of today I am 7 weeks & 2 days & due the 4th of April!

Not only have we just moved into our new family home (which is three - four times the size of our last home, so great!) AND still trying to establish a new routine. I think Jydan has only gone to bed once on time in this new house, and we've been here for about three weeks now I think! I've been dealing with horrible morning sickness & then I'm SO tired! But finally, after a year of trying I got that positive line.. again, again & again! EK!

So I'm going to spend this week playing catch up with all my posts, I have some fun posts up my sleeve, so just excuse me while I go a little crazy!

All in all though, life has been fun and great and little Mr Jydan is teaching us so many things everyday. At the moment, it's patience, lol.

Baby Jydan - 4 Months 2 Weeks.

Nineteen Weeks:

So now Jydan is four and a half months (what?!) I have decided to change my posts up a bit. Each month I will do the in depth weekly posts I have been doing but weekly I'll just do a quick up date of what's going on which will now be like this!
I want to blog about more things I'm doing and love and since Jydan is really easy now and settled it's time to have more 'ME' time!
This week consisted of 4 month needles, Jydan's first funeral, an overnight trip, more active play, better day sleeps, colder weather, stories, sitting improvement, church, eczema, snuggles, a protest and more chat, chat, chat!!

Jydan's in disposables for a couple of days because he has the 'after immunisation poops!'.. which aren't pretty!!

Favourite Toy This Week:
Jydan's really liking his little 'sock monkey' this week. I think because he can hold onto it a bit better, probably one of the only toys he can hold and shake around. He swaps it between his hands, so cute!

Favourite Thing To Do:

Definitely suck on his hands at the moment - his teeth are giving him some grief so it's fingers in his mouth 24/7! He even got a little sucking sore on his pointer!

Favourite Book:

Umm no real favourite book on Jydans behalf but I'm loving the very hungry caterpillar!

Favourite Word This Week:

"muuuummmm" oh bless him!!

Milestones:

Jydans rolling, cooing/chatting, doing crunches, laughing, sitting for a few seconds, can put weight on his legs for a couple of minutes, says mum, interacts, plays by himself, reaches if you give him something, gets excited when dad comes home, associates and snuggles.

Personality This Week:

Mostly calm and placid. Some very easy days where he has just been the most gorgeous perfect boy but some days the teeth have given him some grief, I must say he copes really well and even when it was yucky needle time Jydan was fine. He got some VIP treatment after his needles and lots of cuddles.

Moment Of The Week:

Tim (daddy) reading Jydan a story. When Tims home on the weekends we often don't have story time. It's usually only on week days that we read stories and we do more active family oriented things on the weekends. So it was so nice to see Tim and Jydan relaxing and reading together :).

Outfit Of The Week:

My super funky little man!!

Photo Of The Week:

Jydan sitting all by himself, way too clever for words :).

Baby Jydan - 2 Weeks

Two Weeks Young:
Wow, Jydan is two weeks all ready! I can't believe it! And the last two weeks has gone so quick, its felt like a day! I did aim to do a 'one week' post but it took about a week and a half to find the time to venture off and write a post. If I didn't have my beautiful baby in my arms, I was napping, taking a quick shower or had visitors around. I feel like I've been able to enjoy Jydan's second week alot more, especially because we've been home and I'm not in so much pain. I am in absolute love with my little man. He is the completion of my heart.

Routine:
Jydan is all ready following his own little night & mourning routine! Even if he goes slightly out of his routine he fixes himself back up & his on track again by the next time he wakes up! (although last night was a bad night!!) I have this great app on my phone called iBaby and I log in his feeds, wee's, poop's & sleeps and have noticed that it's all pretty much alike every day, give or take half hour. He will have a feed and nappy change 12:00am then sleep, then again at 4am, then 6:30am for either a cuddle, a quick 10minute comfort feed and nappy change and then he will go down for a long morning nap where I usually nap too and feed again, nappy change and cuddles at 11:30am and again around 3:30pm & 7:30pm.

Weight/Height/Looks:
Jydan was born at 52 centimeters long and 8 pounds 5 oz. He went down to 7 pound 6 oz when he was four days and back up to 8 pound 1 when he was six days old! I'm going to get him weighed again tomorrow but I imagine that his over his birth weight now, not sure by how much but his got his little chubby leg rolls back!! hehe.
His looks have changed sooo much. He looks like a little boy now with tiny, tiny features! His gorgeous hair is between mine & Tim's. It's mine in the dark and Tim's in the light. Just perfect. He looks so much like Tim now and alot like myself as a baby. He really is a gorgeous little cocktail of me & Tim :).

14 Days.
Birth.

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:
Jydan LOVES music, it calms him down when his frustrated and helps him to breastfeed better. I think it's because I listened to alot of music while I was pregnant.
He really likes his baths too. Well, he once cried during a bath and I think that's because his father bathed him, hehe. His never cried for me!
I haven't found anything that he doesn't like yet, except being naked when his cold. His fine being naked when it's warm! Ohh and if he can't latch on straight away when feeding he gets frustrated. He's such a cruisy baby!

Clinic Appointment:
When Jydan was 6 days new we had Jydan's first clinic appointment. It went so well. We were told he has the strength of a four week old baby, especially in his neck. Which is so true. He is extremely strong, and that was a week ago! I'm interested to know how strong he is now! We also found out that we have to keep an eye on his belly button, it should heal up naturally but he has a little hernia. It's looking better now all ready though :).

Tongue Tie:
In the announcement post I mentioned that Jydan was born tongue tied. I had alot of trouble feeding the first couple of days because he couldn't suck very well at all. We decided to talk with the paediatrician. She mentioned that she wouldn't do the procedure if it wasn't necessary and checked him. She said that it was necessary to allow him to suck. His tongue tie could also cause him speech problems. So he got the tie in his tongue cut. I cried more then him! I wasn't sure if I should go with him or not but decided the best thing to do was if he was comforted by me afterwards. Well, ever since then, apart from some issues learning to attach, his been a great feeder! He spent the afternoon after it was cut rolling his tongue around his mouth and discovering it. It was amazing to see.

Breast Feeding:
He was on three hourly feeds because of his jaundice which meant I had to wake him during sleeps. Now his jaundice is clearing I am more demand feeding when his hungry but won't let him go more then 5 hours between feeds. I am actually really proud of myself, after having to hand express for him the first few days of his life I can't believe all is going well with the feeding now. He does get frustrated if he can't latch on properly, but I hear that's a boy thing anyway. Oh and he has these gorgeous little concentration toes when his drinking, he spreads his toes right out.. it's so cute!

Jydan's first feed after his tongue
was corrected.

Concentration Toes!
Blog After Pregnancy:
Now my pregnancy is over my blog posts will now be about my perfect little man. I'll be doing weekly posts of him until his a few months old, then it will be monthly posts. I will also write a post of life as a mum once a week.
I'm sure you have all ready noticed too that 'Baby Tiley' is now 'Baby Jydan'. Tiley was Jydans 'pet' name while I was pregnant. We had the name Jydan picked out but still refered to him as Tiley most of the time. It was a combination of TIm & harLEY... no baby is here I'm using his real name :).

I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS LITTLE MAN!!

Baby Tiley- 34 Weeks.

Baby Tiley:
I just can't believe how big our little boy is now, his not that far off being a newborn heigh. He would be about 46cm from head to toe now (based on if he is 51cm at birth). That's only 3cm smaller then how big I was when I was born! No wonder his stretching out a lot - I'm sure his so squished now!
His also about 2.4 kilos now / 5.2 pounds. I'm secretly hoping that he will only put on another 2 & 1/2 pounds, around about. But I don't mind :D.
Tiley's working on his muscle development this week, and will be turning his head from side to side, opening and closing his eyes and moving those gorgeous little muscles.

My Bump This Week:
Tiley's Movements:
Tiley often has his legs up towards the right. I especially only feel him get into my right rib but a couple of days this week I felt him all in my left side. For some reason too, the left rib kicks hurt alot more then the right ones! He seems to have settled back into his usual position now, he must prefer his legs and being flipped onto the right side, thank goodness - I know I certainly prefer him being on my right. Before he was too squished and would flip and rotate alot I seemed to have never liked him being into my left side, it was always so painful and uncomfortable, I wondered if it was anything to do with the way the curve in my spine went.
Tiley had some massive work-out days this week, I don't think he slept for about 30 hours! Or if he did, it was only 5 minute naps! He definitely took all my energy and I was exhausted because I couldn't get to sleep at all! He does this around once a month or so and goes absolutely nuts for a couple of days straight -  and then so quite, that he has a lack of movements! Last time it happened, at 30 weeks, it made me quite concerned even though it has been happening throughout the whole pregnancy and I went to the hospital for lack of fetal movement, all was okay of course :). Although he would go very quite he would also stick to his routine of most movements around 6 am and then 8 pm. My guess is his going to be a very routine baby... gee! I know so much about one little tiny tummy baby.

High Blood Pressure:
I mentioned a few weeks ago about my pre-eclampsia scare (you can read a little about it HERE) and then my blood pressure dropping back down and all being okay the next week (Which you can read more about it HERE)
Well, here's an update;
I have been keeping a very close eye on it, and checking on it about every two days. If it's high I keep checking it until it goes down and even give the hospital a call if I feel it's too high. It goes up really high each week and then goes back down again - it's so unsteady!
Monday it had gone up again so although I have just had a midwives appointment last Friday I am booked in again this Friday. I feel that weekly appointments are more fitting for my situation as along with the blood pressure there is protein and SOMETIMES (It does go away too!) sudden swelling. If my blood pressure was high all the time I would be diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, but it seems I am only pre-eclamptic a couple of days out of the week... my body can amaze me by making my beautiful boy and then frustrate me for not doing it perfectly!

Symptom's This Week:
-Heartburn
-Increase In Allergy's
-Pelvic Pain
-Insomnia

All in all, I do not feel ' 34 weeks pregnant'... I feel great! Possibly only 24 weeks pregnant. I feel I can do this pregnancy thing for more then the next 6 weeks (but baby WILL be coming on time!!!). I often get the comments now of 'oh you must be over it', 'oh I bet you can't wait until it's over'.. but i'm not.. Am I normal?
Realising I've ONLY got six weeks to go, I'm really making the most of it. Videoing every circus act Tiley does, taking many bump pictures, showing off my bump with tight clothing, spending quality time just rubbing and 'ahhing' over my belly and his movements and doing double takes of every time I look in the mirror with my belly exposed. I'm not ready to give up being pregnant yet.. I'm secretly hoping the next 6 weeks don't go too fast  (Possibly coming from the unknown fact if we can have #2) but on the same hand I am more then ready and mentally prepared and excited for this baby to come!

Midwives Appointment:
Tim actually got to go to this appointment which is the first midwives appointment his been to, besides our scare at 11 Weeks and all our scans but none of the midwives or doctors appointment. It was amazing to see him involved. He loved hearing bubbys heartbeat because our home Doppler doesn't pick it up as loud and strong.
My fundal height is measuring a week smaller, I can't keep up with this fundal height business! but that's still pretty perfect :).
Other then that, we chatted about what to be on the look out with regarding pre-eclampsia and what to pack in my hospital bag.

Does anyone know what pres.part & station means??

Itti Bitti Modern Cloth Nappy Review:
So I HAVEN'T tried these cloth nappies on bub yet, obviously. We've washed them a couple of times with Tri Nature Washing Powder snapped and folded them all up and they are ready to go. Tim and I sat for a couple of hours feeling, snapping and chatting about our favourite nappy's, which ones we do and don't like and our favourites were definitely the Itti Bitti's. We've bought many brands so we can see what we like best, what suits baby's bum and what we will continue buying. Just a reminder, we have not used them on baby yet - this review is just based on thickness/thinness, drying time, waterproofness, matching boosters/inserts and size. I will do another review when baby actually wears them, and we will see if our favourites or thoughts change.

Itti Bitti's come in so many gorgeous colours and patterns. They also have sales on so often. Itti Bitti comes in three different styles, the Itti Bitti D'lish (sized nappy's), which also come in Snap-In-One's or All-In-One's, the Itti Bitti Tutto's (One-size-fits-most) and the Itti Bitti Boo's (Night Nappy's). We have the the Itti Bitti D'lish's, and the Itti Bitti Tutto's.

Itti Bitti D'lish Snap In One's (These are our favourites):
  • They are very quick drying, the quickest of all the nappies we have.
  • You can use the nappy as a shell/cover without the boosters for other nappy's that are not waterproof.
  • You can 'snap in' the boosters for a complete nappy.
  • If only the boosters are wet, you can just replace the boosters, snap in new boosters without changing the nappy.
  • You do not have to unsnap to wash, they can be washed all together!

Itti Bitti All In One's:
  • These are so easy and convenient, they come with everything inside and sown into the nappy.
  • You don't need to worry about finding the correct boosters or anything, they are all-in-one!

Itti Bitti Tutto's:
  • These are One-Size-Fit's-Most and go from size's small to extra-large which are bigger then the d'lish comes in.
  • These can last forever!
  • These work just like the Snap In One's that we love!
  • They come with three different boosters that snap in. You can use all three for night-time or choose whatever boosters best fit your baby's wetting and pooing habbits.
  • Tutto's come with hip snaps to avoid fabric rubbing on baby's hips.

3 days till my maternity shoot!!

P.S I have been working on my blog.. is it looking better?

Baby Tiley- Week 22

Tiley This Week:
This week means I'm officially 5 months pregnant!! And bubby's doing so well, growing heaps too! Almost gaining his first pound!!
Here's a weight and height chart for the next 8 weeks

Can you believe how quick Tiley is going to put on the weight now? It took over 22 weeks to get to one pound, and then only another 5 weeks to gain another pound!

Mummy's lesson this week:
So I thought this week I would share a little lesson my little boy taught.
Last weekend left me feeling a little flat, Saturdays is my most uncomfortable days and random blood spotting last Thursday (Scan on Friday showed no reason- again, but received an answer from the doctor).  So I thought I would share a moment today. An amazing one second moment that changed my day.
 A big strong kick.
Even though I get many a day, this was a big strong one right when I was feeling flat. It made me smile. It made me stop and think, okay, yes I'm uncomfortable but his so so so worth it all ready. It made me fall in love with my little boy that tiny bit more which I didn't think was possible. It made me positive.
My dear son, although not here yet is the most precious thing to me. I'm so proud of him all ready.

Kicks:
Tiley's kicks are really strong now. About a week ago they started feeling like proper kicks. I love documenting how his kick's feel because they change all the time. They went from pins & needles, to flutters/spiders in my tummy and now they feel like big air bubbles in my tummy poping (and no it's not wind : P). They are strong enough to sometimes lift my hand/jolt my hand when he kicks it.

Second Scan:
So this scan went very smooth and bubby was turned on his back so the measurements for the heart, brain and kidneys were taken which we missed out on last week and everything was perfect!! I couldn't believe how big he had got in just a week! The pictures this week are also so much clearer! The sono also ended the scan right between the little boys legs... still a boy ;)
Doctors Appointment:
I waited over an hour to see the doctor for a ten minute appointment but I found out our son is perfect (which I all ready knew). My fundal height was measuring at 22 weeks, perfect. My blood pressure has gone up a little bit but still in the normal range, perfect. My darlings heartbeat is between 150-160 bpm which is normal and perfect. Everything from the morphology scan was perfect too....... one very perfect little babe on our hands :)

Morning Sickness:
Am I speaking too soon? Could my morning sickness really be finally all gone?? It looks that way! Finally no morning sickness this week which is the first time since I was about 6 & half weeks pregnant!

Baby Shower:
This week I began organising my BABY SHOWER!!

I realised that their was only 8 weeks before my baby shower, me being the organised person I am, (We also have to be organised when family will need to travel) I started jotting down some ideas:

  • The shower will be at my mums house, in Gravelly Beach. It's a bit far out for my friends, but I'm sure people could car pool.
  • BLUE theme.
  • Dedicated to TILEY not mummy-to-be.
  • It will be on Saturday the 15th of September. Probably from 2pm.
  • Kids & babies will be welcome.
  • Lots of fun games!!
  • Name Reveal.
Nothing like having your first baby :)

What I couldn't live without:
Here are some things I couldn't live without!!
I adore my pregnancy journal!!
You have room to write about three sentences
each day. Highly recommend it for every
pregnant lady.
VEGEMITE! One of my major
cravings through my pregnancy. Definitely
can't live without it.

I have this wonderful November 2012 mum's club
through bub hub. There's always someone to
answer my questions and it's been great to share
my experiences and experiences of others.

My husband!
This pregnancy has been really hard on my body
and my wonderful husband has been the best support.
I couldn't imagine doing this without him.

My Body Pillow!!
I only have cheapy, but WOW is it comfortable,
especially with this big bump.

Okay.. so to be honest, I could live without
Ebay... but it's been brilliant! Bargains everywhere!
We've got so many clothes and MCN's from Ebay- love.

Justine's Baby #2:
My beautiful friend Justine is due this Friday with her dear little darling, bubby number 2. Her first little boy is just a bundle of cuteness and was born the day before his due date so my fingers are tightly crossed that this little (cheeky) bub comes soon!

Pop-To-Be's Birthday:

Today is my dad's birthday! We're celebrating with dinner and a blue's night on the weekend but I gave him his birthday cards yesterday. He got one from Tim & I and then a 'Happy Birthday Pop' one from Tiley.

Blog Readers:
I've realised that somehow I have a growing number of blog readers each week. The readers double and this week tripled. I'm really excited to share my journey with everyone.
I thought of making this a private blog, as this is my pregnancy diary, but my little baby boy is not just a miracle in the sense of a child being made but also in the sense that so many odds were against conceiving him, and then carrying him. I think it's worth sharing with everyone how my husband and I have (almost!!) come out the other side.

So THANK YOU for reading :)

Only 8 weeks till I'm 30 weeks!!

Baby Tiley - 21 Weeks.

This week has been an amazing exciting week and seems to have gone so quick! Here's an update on all the exciting things this week.
Another big long blog this week, so much information to share...

Morphology Scan:
Some photos from Tiley's photo shoot:
The first one is of Tiley's body. It's not very clear, so you can't see its eyes, or nose or anything but it's so beautiful anyway. The next one is of it's little foot. You can almost count it's little toes!!
Tiley and the scan:
So I've come to the conclusion that poor little Tiley doesn't like the probe on the ultrasounds/doppler. We've never really been able to get Tiley's heartbeat on the doppler but can hear Tiley swim away, like a big whoosh. On the 11 week scan Tiley turned it's back to us, and same at the 20 week scan so we couldn't get all of the measurements and have to go back this friday to try and finish it off. So I'll update again then! We did however get to see between it's legs .................................................
WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! We are over the moon, so so happy! I love the fact that were having a baby boy first.
I'M HAVING A SON!!!! I feel like we are so lucky.. really lucky! and I'm just over excited!! We will get to have a second look to double check on Friday and then we will go crazy with boy stuff!

Gender Test:
So the Gender Maker test arrived the day of the scan. So we did it after the scan.
I didn't use the morning urine and I used too much urine but it came out........ PURPLE!!!
It was suppose to be blue = boy & pink = girl.
The lady that introduced me to it, also came out purple so I decided to do some research I should have done at the start....and realised that there are alot of people that get purple results. I was starting to get a bit annoyed. Stupid money making test. Until I found this on their website:
'Every woman's urine may vary in colors due to various factors such as diet, fluid intake, exercise, and other factors. For example, prenatal vitamins (especially vitamin B) can really change the color of the urine. Sometimes, due to excess of certain vitamins, the color of the urine can change. Therefore, the color of the test changes accordingly.
Sometimes the test result may have a shade of blue-purple. It is absolutely normal and still indicates a boy result.'
So really, It was correct for us!! Bub's a boy!!

Old Wives Tales:
So I thought I would also share what old wives tale worked for us when guessing the guess and what didn't.
Heartbeat:
So the story is, if bubs heart beat is fast (over 150) it's a girl, if it's slower (under 150) it's a boy... This old wives tale is so hard to go by because the babys heartbeat changes all the time. It's slower, then faster, then slower. But I found a website (can't find it now) where you type in the weeks and the heartbeat and it tells you either a boy or girl.... it said GIRL.
* 1 Girl 0 Boy *
Cravings:
The old wives tale says that if you crave sweet and dairy your having a girl. If you crave salt, savory things your having a boy. This was spot on for us. My major craving is Vegemite.. a BOY!
* 1 Girl 1 Boy *
Dry Skin:
Another old wives tale that was true for us is if you have dry skin your having a boy, and if you have oily skin your having a girl.. if you have no skin problems during pregnancy you should just be shot.... okay that's bits not really in the myth lol. But my skin is super, dooper dry... BOY!
* 1 Girl 2 Boy *
Nub Theory:
This is a really interesting theory, and all about guessing which way the first nub points to see if it will turn into a boy part or girl part. If it's over 30 degrees up it's a boy, if under it's a girl. Really interesting to research. We didn't get a clear shot at our 11 week scan but we tried to have a look and THOUGHT we saw it as a BOY!
* 1 Girl 3 Boy *
Hair:
Apparently is your lucky enough to get thick healthy lovely hair during pregnancy that means boy. If it's dull, thin and brittle, it means girl. I am very blessed with the BOY theory!
* 1 Girl 4 Boy *
Smoking:
This theory is to do with the dad smoking. The (Y) male sperm are more sensitive when introduced to a smoking environment than the (X) girl sperm. So it's said that you are less likely to conceive a boy when you smoke, and more chance of a GIRL.
* 2 Girl 4 Boy *
Carrying Low:
Boys carry lower then girls (apparently)... my baby bump is very low so said to be a BOY!
* 2 Girl 5 Boy *
Chinese Gender Chart:
This theory is used by the Chinese and was actually correct for us. Check out the chart here:
http://www.babygenderprediction.com/chinese-gender-chart.html
In the chart you line up with your age at conception with the month baby was conceived. Bub was conceived on my 22nd birthday in February, the results said BOY.
* 2 Girl 6 Boy *
So not all the wives tales were correct, the smoking theory and heartbeat were the only ones that were wrong but over all the average test was right! Next bub we will definitely do a heap of theories again and go with majority - the majority certainly was correct this time!

Babymoon:

So we left for Hobart on Friday afternoon and had such an amazing night Friday night. We went out for Indian for dinner and then went to see Ted at the Gold Class. The gold class was both our highlight of the babymoon. It was so relaxing and nice. Another highlight was having a buffet Continental breakfast each morning... great way to start the day!
The next day we spent sight seeing and driving around. We weren't sure what to do as our Savoy booking wasn't confirmed. We went shopping for bubby and bought his very first cot bedding! Tim also bought me some much needed maternity pants.. his just great! We then ended up at this beautiful beach and had lunch there.
The next 12 hours were drama and a half! Ekk! One of the rooms had a faulty fire alarm so we had to evacuate JUST as our meals had finished at the hotel restaurant, then wait outside in the cold where I ruined my new maternity pants from Tim (thank goodness they are still wearable!) and then had to go back to our cold meal! We went back to our hotel room, watched a few movies and went to sleep about 12pm............ to be woken up at 5:30am by the faulty alarm again. I was so sick that day because of the lack of sleep and having to jump straight up out of bed and get organised. I think I had the worse morning sickness I have ever had!
We made our way back that morning stopping into family and friends on the way home and ended up getting home about 8pm.

Tiley this week:
In our exciting week, Tiley's also done some exciting growing!
Tiley's now the length of the average carrot.. 10 & 1/2 inches long which is around 27cm! His also creeping up to a pound already! His 3/4  of a pound! This makes me wonder how huge my belly will get! It's taken 21 weeks to get to 3/4 of a pound and only has 19 weeks to make up the rest of the pounds... Hopefully no more then another 7!!
His getting so strong now, his kicks feel like air bubbles bursting in my belly. It was a surreal moment watching and FEELING bub kick. Tim's and everyone else hasn't felt the strong, strong kicks yet- I cant wait for people to spin out! Tim does try to feel.. bub Tiley, being Tiley and not liking his personal space invaded stops kicking when Tim tries to feel. I haven't noticed a pattern yet, but they certainly say the patterns starts soon, so I will definitely be documenting!
It's also a week for Tiley's taster buds! Tiley's been gulping the amniotic fluid every day for practice, hydration and nutrition. Studies show that after birth babies like the taste of foods they have tasted through the amniotic fluid... might be time to lay off the hungry jacks!
Blog on the phone:
So I checked out the blog on my mobile the other day and couldn't believe how messy it looked! I double check the preview on the computer and it looks so much different- very neat. So if your checking on your mobile (I've realised that I have quite a few viewers now) sorry about the messy blog!

Fatigue:
I'm still waiting for the second trimester energy to kick in... I think I missed out since I'm half way through the second trimester. I'm not AS tired as the first trimester but still very tired. I start to get tired around 3.30/4pm and then super tired, ready for bed by 7pm! My bedtimes averaging around 9pm these days... I just can't stay awake much longer! But I'm loving getting 9 + hours of sleep each night :D

Cravings:
I'm still craving alot of salty things, I still love my Vegemite but this weeks cravings have included alot of dairy too!! Not the best when your lactose intolerant! Especially those banana milks.. definitely satisfy my thirsty cravings! It's really strange because Ive completely gone off banana's! Vanilla icecream has also been part of my new dairy cravings. Fingers crossed I don't start craving vegimite in my icecream!
Oranges are my snack of choice, I at least have an orange a day!
My drink of choice at the moment is water (Orange or lime flavoured water by PUMP is my favourite) and green cordial. I was a huge juice lover, we bought a juice maker not long ago but haven't used it at all during my pregnancy.
Ted:
So this week I've decided to restore my baby teddy....

This was me with Ted when I was a baby and this is Ted 22 years later.  It needs alot of work.. to be re-stuffed, stitched, more fluff put on it, cleaned, dyed, eyes, nose and I want to put a BLUE bow on it for our bub instead of the pink bow. I'm thinking I will get a professional to do most of the work but I really want to the bow myself :) I was thinking of also getting 'made in 1990' somewhere on it, but don't want to change it too much. I might get the professional to make a tag near its bum :).
That's all for this week x

6 more weeks till I'm in the third trimester...

BABY TILEY- 16 WEEKS.

The Blog:
As you can see I did a bit of a make-over with this blog this week... hope you like it :).. I feel it suits my blog more.
I thought I would explain why I decided to make this blog.
After loosing our second little angel I could not think of a simple reason of why on earth it had happened to us.. again. The only thing I knew is I needed to get my story out there and try and help other people get through such a horrible, horrible time. So I started writing a blog about our losses and trying to conceive. I never had the courage to share it with anyone, I wrote it too personal. When we finally fell pregnant this time I deleted that blog and started this one. I was deleting alot of bad memories and wanted to share something more positive, about the miracle that will happen after loosing my babies. I feel I can share this blog more openly - focusing on a more positive outcome and hopefully inspire couples trying to conceive or trying to deal with a loss to never give up.

I call our darling our little spec of gold. I am so, so, proud of our little person.. I think its the most perfect & clever of our little one!
I also wanted to make a pregnancy blog to share this wonderful time with our close friends & family (Especially my mum ;) ), have something we can look back through every few weeks, after bubs born, even in a few years.. even to share with our little darling. So here's our 16th week journey:

The Reason We Married:
This week I've been reminiscing about my wedding day, and the reason we decided to get married. We wanted to start our family married, so here is our wedding, besides being so in love, only three days before bubby was conceived:
FEBRUARY 25TH 2012
Father-To-Be:
I couldn't think of a better father-to-be or anyone else I would want to have a family with... So happy that I married my true love xx
I can't wait to see how much our darling will be like my husband xx
Midwives Appointment:
On Tuesday I had my midwives appointment. I booked into the hospital & booked my morphology scan. My scan will be on the 6th of July. I'm a bit bugged that we didn't get to pick the actual date for our scan and that I have to wait till I'm 20.1 weeks but its still around hubbys birthday, and that's what we really wanted. It's at 11am so I have to take ANOTHER day off work, oh well.. I'll try not to have a sick day before then and they should be okay with it.
I actually love how their is all these things like appointments, ultrasounds, etc, that you have to look forward to that takes you mind of the final countdown and makes the whole pregnancy a little faster.
Although we have a home doppler, I got to hear Tiley's heartbeat with the midwives doppler.. it was super fast!
I'm a bit confused about my uterus measurements, My uterus is measuring 5 days smaller then the actual size of the baby.. I have NO idea what that means and she said that's normal, everyone else is saying its normal.. my due date even got moved up because the baby is big. So basically, babys gonna come when babys gonna come.

Work:
This week Ive had off work, except for two hours on Monday and I wont be returning to work till next Tuesday. Ahh I'm going crazy already, I swear I'm going to start nesting early! haha!

Cravings:
My cravings are crazy. Crazy in love with vegemite!! I can't get enough of vegemite on savoys & vegemite sandwiches, if the supermarket has vegemite scrolls, consider them mine!! Salt, Salt, Salt, huh! Ive done a bit of research on cravings and it's your body saying it 'needs' something to keep your or your babies nutrition up.. I'm guessing it's the salt in the vegimite for me as early on I had an urge to have cherry tomatoes with salt, then potato & gravy and now vegimite.. all really salty foods.

What I Know About Tiley Allready:
I also feel like I know so much about Tiley all ready...
I know Tiley's strong, I started feeling movements at around 13 weeks and it gets stronger and stronger. So many people feel movements later on, its so great!! Tileys so active :D. I can also feel, if Tiley's squished on one side I can feel something hard on the side of my belly. I am so lucky, I really wanted to feel bub by 16 weeks.. and I well & truly did :D
Tiley also LOVES food. Every time I eat Tiley had a party. Even if Tiley's sleeping bub wakes up and moves around for food.. a big burst of energy after it's got some food!
Tiley also makes itself so sleepy. If I have a really active day where bub moves soo much all day, I will hardly feel bub move for a day or so.. hehe.. how cute is that?!
Bubby this week:

What Tiley Would Look Like This Week:
This is what Tiley might look like this week.. how beautiful!! I just want to cuddle it!!
Bubbys a little fatty now hehe.. around 100grams! HAHA.. No really we are soo proud of the perfect darling. My baby to be is absolutely perfect!!
Tiley is also playing away, not only with sucking it's thumb but will start playing with it's umbilical cord too!! Tugging & pulling, Tiley's first toy :)
Some people say that a bub can also begin to hear at 16 weeks (faintly and then actively around 24 weeks), so I did what I've been doing best and looked at alot of research. I keep Tim pretty updated with my research on the pregnancy every week and when I mentioned about hearing I think I got the most excited response yet! His pretty excited for the baby to start hearing his voice.. and the fact that babys can hear the males voice more then the females voice (because of the depth of a masculine voice) his pretty stocked!! I wonder if he will start singing to Tiley?!
This brings back memories of my own mum pregnant with one my brothers and I was obsessed with the SPICE GIRLS!! and my brother responded to the songs I played, over & over after he was born! I can't believe his going to be an uncle now.. And I'm BECOMING A MUMMY!!

Well, this is my progress this week..
12 weeks till I'm in my third trimester!!
