Gender Reveal Party Ideas.

I'm in such a party plan mood so I've decided to start planning our gender reveal for whenever we do get pregnant! Okay, so no, where not even pregnant yet, let alone over the 12 week mark, but to fulfill some of my cluckiness and to come up with some ideas, why not?
I won't have a baby shower this time, instead I want a really cute gender reveal!
Including Tims friends & family and finishing off with a fun little afternoon family friendly party!
I'm not really good with hiding surprises, at all! So it would have to be not long after we found out... maybe 23 weeksish?
I've decided to have a TUTU'S OR TIE'S theme!!

BABY TILEY- 24 WEEKS.

Tiley This Week:
Tiley would be around 30 cm this week! His graduated from the ruler length.. go Tiley, go! Also weighing in at around 1pounds 3oz! Over the next weeks he will have a MASSIVE growth spurt and grow about 4 cm in a week!... with his average growth spurts being about a cm each week, 4 is just amazing!!
It's also a big week for Tiley's lungs, one of my MAJOR hopes for Mr. Tiley is he doesn't have asthma. Having asthma my whole life I wouldn't want that for my dear little boy. Although he won't begin breathing yet the cells and branches of the respiratory tree begin developing.

Morning Sickness:
So, yes, I spoke too soon. Although my morning sickness is so much better then it was, I had it for three days this week, even had today off work. Oh well, all for the good 'ol hormones helping my little darling.

Gender Guesses Results:
So It's been a few weeks now since we found out if Tiley is a boy or girl so I thought I would share the results of the survey I put on here:
70 % of people said BOY
30% of people said GIRL

Movements / Patterns/ Routines:
Some days this week I hardly felt movements and some days it was amazing with lots of kicks. Tiley's the most active in the morning. I often hear about tummy babys being the most active in the evening, so I'm so glad my darling has his own little individuality all ready! :)
Tiley isn't overly active... after his morning workout I feel about 3 kicks during the day, if I feel much at all. Nothing that feels like the hiccups yet, like continues jumps or patterned kicks in my belly- some babies don't hiccup though, but I will definitely announce when I do! Sunday was a BIG movement morning. So many big kicks. Tim laid with his hand on my belly and it was so special because he often stops kicking when someones hands are on my belly, but Tim could feel every big kick :)
I felt alot of movement's this week while I was holding baby Jax. My little boy was kicking Jax non-stop... It was funny! I can't wait to watch these two grow up together.

Baby Jax:
So I got my first cuddle from Justine's brand new little man, when he was only three days new...Isn't he just ADORABLE!!
I also went back for another cuddle when he was 6 days.

My Bump This Week:
His starting to sit a little higher which is nice, I thought I was so low to begin with, now my bumps looking higher and more rounded.

Stranger Moment:
Well I must be looking PREGNANT now because last week my clients at work began asking if I was pregnant and this week a stranger asked how long I have left!
I was shocked at the stranger. I wasn't rubbing my belly or anything, just walked past HIM and he asked. I turned around and said, 'who, me?' lol. Naww.. little bubby is getting noticed now!

My Pregnancy Beauty:
My pregnancy skin is finally starting to look better! I had very dry, itchy, flaky skin but have FINALLY managed to find somethings that helps my skin. I still haven't managed to find a good exfoliate, a lot tend to dry out my skin more so have resorted to just making my own. It's amazing how much your skin, hair (I've had to change shampoo's & conditioner's) teeth & everything else changes, so here is what I use as part of my beauty care while pregnant:

I combine sugar as it's a great exfoliate and the
sugar cane has anti-ageing properties. (not salt as salt tends to dry your skin out more).
With honey which is a soothing and heeling agent. Smells so yummo too!
I do this everyday.
This lives beside my bed. When
my back is dry and itchy, hubby sprays
and rubes this into my back. It doesn't
moisturise it just sooths and stops the
itch. It's VERY soothing!

I'm a HUGE nutrimetics fan, and try and
use this 'warming face masque' once a week,
mostly on Friday afternoons after a long week.
It feels great to distress my face and leaves
my face feeling amazing afterwards.

I use this on my face after a face mask
& when my face is feeling really dry.
It's also by nutrimetics and leaves my skin
feeling extra smooth! I also use this on my
belly. It's an intense moisturiser so it's not something
I apply often.  I'm almost out, so will have to
order some more :)

I use the vaseline cocoa butter
as my daily moisturiser and sometimes
twice a day on my face and body. I apply
this about ten minutes before I do my
makeup as well. It's a great daily
moisturiser as it's not too intense to
leave you feeling oily but enough for
your skin to stop feeling dry!
My hair has never been so
oily! For someone that has dry
hair normally, I had no idea how
to deal with oily hair and was having
to wash my hair everyday and
loosing my natural oils making my
hair look very dull. I switched my
shampoo and conditioner to WELLA
and it's worked so well! You would
never pick that I have really oily
hair at the moment and I am able to
wash my hair every second day.

Baby Shower Update:
While in the midst of printing my baby shower invites the ink in my printer ran out. I'm hoping they will be out by the end of this week, if not the start of next week :).

My Baby Shopping Tips:
There's a few things that I've found with buying clothes, and a few tips that people have given me, so I thought I would share them too:
  • We're going to buy a couple of outfits in 00000 if bubs small, and I can always send Tim or a family member off to buy some more.
  • Singlet-suits! A great invention to keep bubs singlets down, to wear under a wonder suit when cold or on its own with cold. We all ready have enough in 0000's and 000's.. need to stock up in bigger sizes.
  • We're going to buy feet-less outfits in 0000 & 00000 in case bub has big feet or long legs but is too small for the next size up. From size 000 I'll be buying outfits with feet covers.
  • Although were using Modern Cloth Nappies, were going to use disposables at first, especially in the first week with the meconiam poo and then till we get into a washing routine with baby. We're getting enough disposables for two weeks. And then see from there.
  • Old style terry towling cloth nappies for burping cloths. They're made to soak up lots of liquid so perfect for lots of vomit! We will be taking these in our hospital bag instead of bibs or burp cloths.
  • We're going to use mini pegs to hold pairs of socks together instead of folding them together. This is so we can see and compare bub's sock sizes without unfolding them all to find the right size. They will look alot neater in bubs drawers too ;).
  • While bubby is tiny were using cloth bibs but as bubby gets older, on solids and starts getting messy we are going to use plastic bibs with catchers down the bottom. Catch all the little ones mess.
  • Snaps on the back of bub clothes is something were going to avoid in sizes 000 or smaller. Not only is bubby going to be on his back most of the time, he will also not be very strong so getting to those back snaps I imagine will be difficult.
That's my progress for this week...
Three weeks till I'm in the next trimester!!

Baby Tiley - 21 Weeks.

This week has been an amazing exciting week and seems to have gone so quick! Here's an update on all the exciting things this week.
Another big long blog this week, so much information to share...

Morphology Scan:
Some photos from Tiley's photo shoot:
The first one is of Tiley's body. It's not very clear, so you can't see its eyes, or nose or anything but it's so beautiful anyway. The next one is of it's little foot. You can almost count it's little toes!!
Tiley and the scan:
So I've come to the conclusion that poor little Tiley doesn't like the probe on the ultrasounds/doppler. We've never really been able to get Tiley's heartbeat on the doppler but can hear Tiley swim away, like a big whoosh. On the 11 week scan Tiley turned it's back to us, and same at the 20 week scan so we couldn't get all of the measurements and have to go back this friday to try and finish it off. So I'll update again then! We did however get to see between it's legs .................................................
WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! We are over the moon, so so happy! I love the fact that were having a baby boy first.
I'M HAVING A SON!!!! I feel like we are so lucky.. really lucky! and I'm just over excited!! We will get to have a second look to double check on Friday and then we will go crazy with boy stuff!

Gender Test:
So the Gender Maker test arrived the day of the scan. So we did it after the scan.
I didn't use the morning urine and I used too much urine but it came out........ PURPLE!!!
It was suppose to be blue = boy & pink = girl.
The lady that introduced me to it, also came out purple so I decided to do some research I should have done at the start....and realised that there are alot of people that get purple results. I was starting to get a bit annoyed. Stupid money making test. Until I found this on their website:
'Every woman's urine may vary in colors due to various factors such as diet, fluid intake, exercise, and other factors. For example, prenatal vitamins (especially vitamin B) can really change the color of the urine. Sometimes, due to excess of certain vitamins, the color of the urine can change. Therefore, the color of the test changes accordingly.
Sometimes the test result may have a shade of blue-purple. It is absolutely normal and still indicates a boy result.'
So really, It was correct for us!! Bub's a boy!!

Old Wives Tales:
So I thought I would also share what old wives tale worked for us when guessing the guess and what didn't.
Heartbeat:
So the story is, if bubs heart beat is fast (over 150) it's a girl, if it's slower (under 150) it's a boy... This old wives tale is so hard to go by because the babys heartbeat changes all the time. It's slower, then faster, then slower. But I found a website (can't find it now) where you type in the weeks and the heartbeat and it tells you either a boy or girl.... it said GIRL.
* 1 Girl 0 Boy *
Cravings:
The old wives tale says that if you crave sweet and dairy your having a girl. If you crave salt, savory things your having a boy. This was spot on for us. My major craving is Vegemite.. a BOY!
* 1 Girl 1 Boy *
Dry Skin:
Another old wives tale that was true for us is if you have dry skin your having a boy, and if you have oily skin your having a girl.. if you have no skin problems during pregnancy you should just be shot.... okay that's bits not really in the myth lol. But my skin is super, dooper dry... BOY!
* 1 Girl 2 Boy *
Nub Theory:
This is a really interesting theory, and all about guessing which way the first nub points to see if it will turn into a boy part or girl part. If it's over 30 degrees up it's a boy, if under it's a girl. Really interesting to research. We didn't get a clear shot at our 11 week scan but we tried to have a look and THOUGHT we saw it as a BOY!
* 1 Girl 3 Boy *
Hair:
Apparently is your lucky enough to get thick healthy lovely hair during pregnancy that means boy. If it's dull, thin and brittle, it means girl. I am very blessed with the BOY theory!
* 1 Girl 4 Boy *
Smoking:
This theory is to do with the dad smoking. The (Y) male sperm are more sensitive when introduced to a smoking environment than the (X) girl sperm. So it's said that you are less likely to conceive a boy when you smoke, and more chance of a GIRL.
* 2 Girl 4 Boy *
Carrying Low:
Boys carry lower then girls (apparently)... my baby bump is very low so said to be a BOY!
* 2 Girl 5 Boy *
Chinese Gender Chart:
This theory is used by the Chinese and was actually correct for us. Check out the chart here:
http://www.babygenderprediction.com/chinese-gender-chart.html
In the chart you line up with your age at conception with the month baby was conceived. Bub was conceived on my 22nd birthday in February, the results said BOY.
* 2 Girl 6 Boy *
So not all the wives tales were correct, the smoking theory and heartbeat were the only ones that were wrong but over all the average test was right! Next bub we will definitely do a heap of theories again and go with majority - the majority certainly was correct this time!

Babymoon:

So we left for Hobart on Friday afternoon and had such an amazing night Friday night. We went out for Indian for dinner and then went to see Ted at the Gold Class. The gold class was both our highlight of the babymoon. It was so relaxing and nice. Another highlight was having a buffet Continental breakfast each morning... great way to start the day!
The next day we spent sight seeing and driving around. We weren't sure what to do as our Savoy booking wasn't confirmed. We went shopping for bubby and bought his very first cot bedding! Tim also bought me some much needed maternity pants.. his just great! We then ended up at this beautiful beach and had lunch there.
The next 12 hours were drama and a half! Ekk! One of the rooms had a faulty fire alarm so we had to evacuate JUST as our meals had finished at the hotel restaurant, then wait outside in the cold where I ruined my new maternity pants from Tim (thank goodness they are still wearable!) and then had to go back to our cold meal! We went back to our hotel room, watched a few movies and went to sleep about 12pm............ to be woken up at 5:30am by the faulty alarm again. I was so sick that day because of the lack of sleep and having to jump straight up out of bed and get organised. I think I had the worse morning sickness I have ever had!
We made our way back that morning stopping into family and friends on the way home and ended up getting home about 8pm.

Tiley this week:
In our exciting week, Tiley's also done some exciting growing!
Tiley's now the length of the average carrot.. 10 & 1/2 inches long which is around 27cm! His also creeping up to a pound already! His 3/4  of a pound! This makes me wonder how huge my belly will get! It's taken 21 weeks to get to 3/4 of a pound and only has 19 weeks to make up the rest of the pounds... Hopefully no more then another 7!!
His getting so strong now, his kicks feel like air bubbles bursting in my belly. It was a surreal moment watching and FEELING bub kick. Tim's and everyone else hasn't felt the strong, strong kicks yet- I cant wait for people to spin out! Tim does try to feel.. bub Tiley, being Tiley and not liking his personal space invaded stops kicking when Tim tries to feel. I haven't noticed a pattern yet, but they certainly say the patterns starts soon, so I will definitely be documenting!
It's also a week for Tiley's taster buds! Tiley's been gulping the amniotic fluid every day for practice, hydration and nutrition. Studies show that after birth babies like the taste of foods they have tasted through the amniotic fluid... might be time to lay off the hungry jacks!
Blog on the phone:
So I checked out the blog on my mobile the other day and couldn't believe how messy it looked! I double check the preview on the computer and it looks so much different- very neat. So if your checking on your mobile (I've realised that I have quite a few viewers now) sorry about the messy blog!

Fatigue:
I'm still waiting for the second trimester energy to kick in... I think I missed out since I'm half way through the second trimester. I'm not AS tired as the first trimester but still very tired. I start to get tired around 3.30/4pm and then super tired, ready for bed by 7pm! My bedtimes averaging around 9pm these days... I just can't stay awake much longer! But I'm loving getting 9 + hours of sleep each night :D

Cravings:
I'm still craving alot of salty things, I still love my Vegemite but this weeks cravings have included alot of dairy too!! Not the best when your lactose intolerant! Especially those banana milks.. definitely satisfy my thirsty cravings! It's really strange because Ive completely gone off banana's! Vanilla icecream has also been part of my new dairy cravings. Fingers crossed I don't start craving vegimite in my icecream!
Oranges are my snack of choice, I at least have an orange a day!
My drink of choice at the moment is water (Orange or lime flavoured water by PUMP is my favourite) and green cordial. I was a huge juice lover, we bought a juice maker not long ago but haven't used it at all during my pregnancy.
Ted:
So this week I've decided to restore my baby teddy....

This was me with Ted when I was a baby and this is Ted 22 years later.  It needs alot of work.. to be re-stuffed, stitched, more fluff put on it, cleaned, dyed, eyes, nose and I want to put a BLUE bow on it for our bub instead of the pink bow. I'm thinking I will get a professional to do most of the work but I really want to the bow myself :) I was thinking of also getting 'made in 1990' somewhere on it, but don't want to change it too much. I might get the professional to make a tag near its bum :).
That's all for this week x

6 more weeks till I'm in the third trimester...

Baby Tiley- 19 Weeks.

Tiley this week:
Its a huge week for sensory development this week.. such a clever little thing! The nerve cells for each sensory is now developing in bubs brain.
Nerve cell production begins to slow down now while the little body focusses on the strengthening, developing and growing it's current nerves.
Tiley's hair on it's head is starting to sprout.. I wonder what colour? This is probably the biggest thing i'm looking forward to seeing on bubby. The most exciting thing. There is no way of telling until bub is born, there's no way a scan or test can show so it makes it so exciting!!
They say from now and over the next 10 weeks is the most active time for the little babe before it gets too crowded. Looking forward to making the most of the movements.
The best thing about my pregnancy so far is knowing if Tiley is asleep or awake by the movements.

We've added a few more people to the list so here it is:

Those who have felt bubby move:
Tim (Daddy) 10th of June.. 16 weeks & 3 days.
Jyle (Uncle Jyle) Jarrett (Pop) Jordan (Uncle Jordan) 17th of June.. 17 weeks & 3 days.
Graham (Grand dad) Pam 23rd of June.. 18 weeks & 2 days.
Kelly (Nanny) 26th of June.. 18 weeks & 5 days.

Morning Sickness:
I'm STILL getting morning sickness :(. Although it is alot better then it was in the first trimester but i'm still a bit sick.. sick enough to have to have a day off work every now & then still.
Names:
This week we picked names!!!! YEEYY!! Were not sharing them.. yet ;) but we are very in love with the names. For me it made it so much more exciting that very soon we could privately talk to this baby by name. For now though, we will keep it as Tiley :P

Breastfeeding:
This week I've been researching breast feeding, were definately going to try as much as possible so I want to know exactly what to do and how to do it properly, so heres some tips I found:
-Don't wait to get help. The longer bub is having trouble feeding the less bub will want to feed from you.
-After a traumatic birth for baby, brest feeding straight after birth is the best way to make bub feel safe.-Make sure bubs mouth is wide open so he/she can get as much milk as possible and I can reduce the risk of dry and cracked nipples.
-Have positive support.
-The more your comfortable, the more baby is comfortable.
-Don't forget that practice makes perfect!
LOOK WHAT WE ORDERED!!
So this is a gender predictor. It's 98% accurate and picks up if bubs a boy or a girl. It works by reading the chemicals in your urine :)... It should be here anyday and hopefully we can update with what it says on the next blog! :)

Some clothes we've got for Tiley so far:
My FAVOURITE outifts so far. A thick & warm body suit for next winter. My favourite hand-made MCN. Peter Alexander PJ's we bought on our honeymoon. Fluffy white booties. I love DAD socks. Tigger body suit + matching hat. Jeans from cotton on kids.

MY NAPPY COLLECTION NOW:
I haven't counted how many we have now, but I think we only need a few more smalls and we can get the medium & large's later :)

Nursery:
So we now offically have a BABYS ROOM!! Tim has started fixing up the walls and will start painting next week. So a bit of planning has been going on the last few days. Here's our ideas and what were looking at buying:

Woody brown feature wall, Nature/Forest green for all the other walls.

Matching Safari drawers, bookshelf and toy box.

Wall Decorations.

Well this is our update for this week.
21 weeks till baby is due!!
