Baby Jydan - 5 Months 2 Weeks.

Twenty-Three Weeks:
My crabby teething
monster.
Jydan has become so curious about the world, he wants to learn and look around at everything. He use to be a good sleeper while we were out and about but now we are lucky if sleeps for 25 minutes because he just wants to explore! Just too gorgeous. We've been hit with the teething bug this week. OH.GOSH.. really want my happy bub back! I get snippets every few hours, but then it's usually followed by hours of crying. The poor thing. Looking forward to seeing some toothy pegs soon though :).

It's school holidays here so we are finally have a 'break' from our busy schedule since my mothers group and playgroup are off during the holidays.  We've done some shopping for clothes in the next size for Jydan, finally started Jydan's milestone book, most of the week we've slept through but a couple of nights we've woken up between 4.30 - 5, which is okay. We've gone to watch my little brother play footy, gone to church, played with new toys, had a big cooking night for Jydans food, learnt new skills (How to lift his bum off the ground while doing tummy time, turn the page of a book, and how to hold a sippy cup better), tried new foods (sweet potato), and gone for walks. We are still struggling with eczema, only because we have to use it week on and week off, and the off week it comes back terribly.

Favourite Toy This Week:

His bath toys! He loves them. He has a couple of books and some plastic squirty toys. They live in a 'penguin' near the bath when it's not bath time. So, as soon as he gets in bath he looks at the penguin and puts his hand out for them.. SOO GORGEOUS! (I love how he puts his hand out for things now).

Favourite Thing To Do:

Suck his thumb! He actually has a little bit of dermatitis on his thumb because he sucks, sucks, sucks!! Even when we put him on tummy time he will suck his thumb. He's suppose to be rolling!

Favourite Book:

We went shopping the other day and found this book, held it up to Jydan to see if he liked it and he loved it. He kept reading it the whole time we were shopping. And yet again, it's the very hungry caterpillar!

Favourite Food:

This week it's banana.. yum yum yum!!

Favourite Word:

Jydan has started coping sounds, it's so cute. I said 'I love you' to him and he say 'ahh uuu' back. ADORABLE!!

Milestones:

He is now putting his hand or arm out indicating or reaching for something he wants - just gorgeous!

Personality This Week:

At the end of this week he has been a bit cranky because the teething monster is here :(, so not many smiles or laughs the last few days.

Moment Of The Week:

I got Jydan up for the day and as we always do, had a snuggle in my bed.. but this morning he fell straight back asleep in mummy and daddy's bed.. aww!! He slept for another hour.

Outfit Of The Week:
Aren't little people's shoes sooo cute!! (Guess shoes!)

Photo Of The Week:
I HAVE TWO:

Uncle Jyle with his nephew Jydan at the footy :)

Jydan's cute butt!!

Baby Jydan - 4 Months 4 Weeks.

Twenty-One Weeks:
During Jydan's specialists appointment he was weighed and measured. He is now 6.8 Kilo's (14.9 pounds) which is around the weight as a baby in Australia was born at in Feb this year! Crazy huh! He is 64 cm long too which is 25 inches. We got his  head measured too and it's the same measurement as last month, his little heady hasn't grown.. and we still have no answers and have to wait for ANOTHER specialists appointment. It's all a waiting game.
Solids are going really well this week. He has around a teaspoon for dinner each day. He had avocado for about a week and then we introduced him to banana. The first night he had banana he slept the whole night. He slept from 7pm - 6.30am!! I was awake at 4.30 just waiting for him wake and checking that he was breathing.. and waiting.. and waiting. And then he had a feed and went back to sleep 'till 8.50am. I never thought I would see the day. What a brilliant boy I have.
Day light savings ended through this week so Jydan has been waking an hour earlier, but since he's sleeping so much better, I don't mind that much :).
This week it's been a bit colder then what Jydan is use to so luckily we have a heat pump, it's been on for the first time this year. I also got my 'Jydan tattoo' which you can read about HERE, we've had lots of play dates and lunch dates, Tim's had an extra day off work, shopping, introduced new foods, still battled with his eczema, better sleeping habits and more interactive play!

Favourite Toy This Week:

His thumb! Jydan's loved putting his hands in his mouth for a couple of months now but he's now favouring his thumb... hehe funny boy!

Favourite Thing To Do:

Jydan has discovered blowing bubbles and loves it! Blowing bubbles/spitting. As if there wasn't enough dribble! haha.

Favourite Book:

Jydan really just loves books in general. If it's bright and colourful he will sit and look at the pictures and listen to your voice while you read with him. If there is a book or magazine near by he will stare at it until you read it to him, and read it many times!

Favourite Food:

Banana's, he likes them more then avocado. Yum yum! We have started giving him breakfast now too. Since he can't have grains, wheat or dairy, baby cereal is out of the question. So banana's are a great breakfast food. We are introducing him to pumpkin for dinner tonight.. let's see how it goes :).

Favourite Word:

"Apple".. He says this over and over and over again. He says it more like "aaaaa-pool". I think he likes the 'bubble' feeling it has on his lips, since he is all about blowing bubbles at the moment.

Milestones:

Sleeping, woohoo. Definitely a milestone, right? If we aren't sleeping through the whole night, we are only waking once and we are achieving 2 hour naps through the day.

Personality This Week:

A big big chatterbox this week. He is always trying to join in on conversations. He isn't afraid of strangers anymore, he's happy to interact with anyone.

Moment Of The Week:

Sleeping again... after spending months waking every 2-3 hours, I'm over the moon about this sleep thing.. you can't half tell, huh!

Outfit Of The Week:

I'm obsessed with the very hungry caterpillar and LOVE these overalls. Too cute!

Photo Of The Week:

Jydan loves his food! He's eating avocado here with a little bit of banana and breastmilk :).

Baby Jydan - 4 Months 2 Weeks.

Nineteen Weeks:

So now Jydan is four and a half months (what?!) I have decided to change my posts up a bit. Each month I will do the in depth weekly posts I have been doing but weekly I'll just do a quick up date of what's going on which will now be like this!
I want to blog about more things I'm doing and love and since Jydan is really easy now and settled it's time to have more 'ME' time!
This week consisted of 4 month needles, Jydan's first funeral, an overnight trip, more active play, better day sleeps, colder weather, stories, sitting improvement, church, eczema, snuggles, a protest and more chat, chat, chat!!

Jydan's in disposables for a couple of days because he has the 'after immunisation poops!'.. which aren't pretty!!

Favourite Toy This Week:
Jydan's really liking his little 'sock monkey' this week. I think because he can hold onto it a bit better, probably one of the only toys he can hold and shake around. He swaps it between his hands, so cute!

Favourite Thing To Do:

Definitely suck on his hands at the moment - his teeth are giving him some grief so it's fingers in his mouth 24/7! He even got a little sucking sore on his pointer!

Favourite Book:

Umm no real favourite book on Jydans behalf but I'm loving the very hungry caterpillar!

Favourite Word This Week:

"muuuummmm" oh bless him!!

Milestones:

Jydans rolling, cooing/chatting, doing crunches, laughing, sitting for a few seconds, can put weight on his legs for a couple of minutes, says mum, interacts, plays by himself, reaches if you give him something, gets excited when dad comes home, associates and snuggles.

Personality This Week:

Mostly calm and placid. Some very easy days where he has just been the most gorgeous perfect boy but some days the teeth have given him some grief, I must say he copes really well and even when it was yucky needle time Jydan was fine. He got some VIP treatment after his needles and lots of cuddles.

Moment Of The Week:

Tim (daddy) reading Jydan a story. When Tims home on the weekends we often don't have story time. It's usually only on week days that we read stories and we do more active family oriented things on the weekends. So it was so nice to see Tim and Jydan relaxing and reading together :).

Outfit Of The Week:

My super funky little man!!

Photo Of The Week:

Jydan sitting all by himself, way too clever for words :).

Baby Tiley- 33 Weeks.

Tiley This Week:
Bubby boy is about 4.4 pounds now (2 kilograms).
Tiley's skeleton is hardening now. His bones have been hardening for the last 5 weeks or so which probably explains my cravings for milk the last few weeks! Except the bones in his skull which aren't fused together and will now remain slightly overlapped (until baby is a few weeks old, and they wont completely fuse together until young adulthood) to make it easier for baby to get through the birth canel. Tiley's lungs are starting to mature and his practicing breathing in amniotic fluid in the womb (and peeing it out!).

Symptoms This Week:
Indigestion:
My acid reflux this week is more indigestion then heartburn. Burp Burp Burp, I feel like I'm always burping! How embarrassing.
Nesting:
I realised that I've been nesting for a while... stocking up nesting. Apparently nesting doesn't just refer to the irresistible urge to clean everything in sight but stocking up on food and supplies. Our shopping cost has been huge lately and hubby suggested that maybe were preparing for when baby comes.. and it's true! When I researched nesting it came up that, that was a form of nesting too! But now the cleaning nesting bug has hit...I can honestly say, the half of the house that I've so far worked on has never been so clean! Scrubbing, Jiffing, Windexing, Sugar Soaping, Disinfecting and Bleaching... They are my new friends at the moment ;). I think hubby's even gone into sympathy nesting mode because he sugar soaped the bathroom too! haha.
Aching Bones:
This symptom has been lingering for a while but I've definitely felt it more since nesting! My bones are on extreme aching mode and I don't just woddle I do a kinds I do a woddle limp by the end of the day. A warm shower at the end of the day often fixes this or makes it at least so much better.
Braxton Hicks:
I've had quite a few braxton hicks contractions this week, they don't bother me at all and only very rarely are they are uncomfortable... never painful for me. Sometimes annoying when I'm trying to do something and the tightness stops me but other then that, a symptom I don't really mind :). I seem to have a automatic reaction to rub my tummy when I get a contraction. I'm sure in true labour I wont want to be touching my tummy at all!!
Low Iron:
After my 26 week blood tests I got told that my iron was low. I started taking an iron liquid that really helped, helped so much that I stopped taking it after about a month - silly move! My iron has now dropped again so I'm back on the iron liquid. I do however highly recommend the iron liquid I'm on. It's called floradix and everyone who takes it highly recommends it too.

Tiley's Movements/Routine:
Tiley doesn't kick much at all anymore.. I don't think I've felt a BIG kick for about two weeks. His just running out of room now but he still moves around alot. His famous move is sticking a leg out and leaving it for a few seconds and then putting it back into position. Like a big long stretch :).
His still has his same routine, moves around in the morning the most around 6:00am and sometimes on and off until around 9am! It's been nice while on maternity leave to soak up his morning movements without being busy and rushing off to work. His also still active in the evening too after about 8pm. I love it when his active then too because I get to share it with Tim after he finishes work :).
I felt the hiccups for only the second time on Monday :). During the day he will do little moves and turns, but nothing too big in fact his quite inactive, even when his having his active times during the day his not overly active.

Those Who Have Felt Bubby Move:
I looked after a gorgeous little boy on Thursday night and he got to feel baby move, so here is our updated, and very exclusive list:

Tim (Daddy) 10th of June.. 16 weeks & 3 days.
Jyle (Uncle Jyle) Jarrett (Pop) Jordan (Uncle Jordan) 17th of June.. 17 weeks & 3 days.
Graham (Poppy Cocks) Pam 23rd of June.. 18 weeks & 2 days.
Kelly (Nanny) 26th of June.. 18 weeks & 5 days.
Bradon 27th of September... 32 weeks.

Tiley's Bed's Ready:

Tiley's bedding is all washed and his bed is made up in our room. Such a wonderful thing to look at next to our bed every morning and night. We often get an 'awwww' moment when going to bed just staring where bubby will sleep.

The Nursery:
To see the progress of our nursery look HERE (Week 20) & HERE (Week 23).
The only thing that's left to get is a nappy stacker :)

The cot!! (and the bouncer)
Tiley's first Teddy's that match his room
and cot bedding that his daddy bought
him.
The green bins for his dirty nappies
for mummy to get to and wash and
another bin for his toys.
Bubby's drawers.

Inside the cane baskets.

Tiley's clothes so far, inside the drawers and inside his
closet.... (lots on the way too)

Progress Of The Hospital Bag:
Well, the baby bag is almost done! He has his visitor outfit, going home outfit, a spare outfit, a 000 outfit, gro-suits, body suits, singlets, mittens, socks & beanies. Blanket, apricot oil and face washers for burp cloths.
Were still waiting on his first outfit (I received it but they sent a 000 instead of a 0000), newborn booties, more gro-suits, the rest of his going home outfit & his photo shoot cocoon.
Out of my bag... well... all that's packed is maternity pads, nipple pads, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, soap & bed socks. I haven't packed anything else because I don't know if I could part with my dressing gown, slippers and clothes for the next seven weeks... I think I'll pack the rest of my bag with only a month to go.

Baby Tiley- Week 32

Tiley This Week:
Tiley would weigh in around 4 pounds (1.8kilo's) now, give or take around half a pound. He weighs around half of what he will at birth. Hopefully he actually weighs over half, were hoping for a 7 pound 9ish baby :).
Tiley's also around 43 cm now and I just can't imagine him that tall. I still often reminsce on the days where his whole body was the size of my finger nail!
Tiley's producing more fat in his skin this week and his skin is starting to look more like a newborn!
Some babies have a head of hair all ready, some don't - I wonder if Tiley will or not? His daddy was completely bald and has bets that Tiley will be too. We so can't wait to see!

The Progressive Shoot:
Well.. we did do the shoot this week but while hubby was taking the photos my camera died so we had use my phone... but it meant that the photos weren't exactly the same as the other shoots (you can see the progress shoot's here (week 26) ) So this is Take One of the 31 week shoot which were not using as the progressive pictures. We will do another shoot this week to get the exact angles, heights ect and use them... Here's a picture anyway because I promised them :)
Pregnancy Symptoms:
Pelvic Pain:
It's fair to say that I did not expect this pain! I've been shocked with a lot of things this pregnancy but the pain from my pelvis.. wow. That's not fun. Tiley's head has been down since 29 weeks (I've also heard that first baby's engage alot sooner) so that would be why I have pelvic pain early... but goooddness me. I'm not impressed at all. So, It's official. The pregnancy woddle has begun! I'm also sitting like a man - legs apart and am sooo slow when I walk. I cherish everything about my pregnancy, I really love every moment but it would be an extra bonus if this pain disappeared all together ;).
Leg Cramps:
The first time I got a leg cramp during pregnancy was at 20 weeks and I haven't had one since, but I had one again this week. I'm quite surprised, I expected them more often. I think because I've been getting hubby to massage my legs and I always have a warm shower before bed it's been helping with the circulation in my legs. Hopefully no more for a while!!
Heartburn:
The heartburn is still lingering around and it's starting to get to the stage where NOTHING helps but avoid every food on the planet. The biggest thing that gives me heartburn is water.. water?? Apparently it's not, it just sti's up your stomach acids. Lovely!
Nose Bleeds:
This is a new one, as of today I have caught the pregnancy blood nose. I have noticed in the last week that my veins are so visable now and I've been given some varicose veins on my legs (so pretty, huh). The increase of blood flow has made my legs feel so heavy and now it's too much pressure for my little nose.

This week has been a great week though, one of my easiest weeks so far, I've loved every moment of it, I've had some great happy hormones to go with it too. All these symptoms are for the greater good of my baby, which make them so worth it :)

Washing Tiley's Clothes:
Since we now have everything ready for baby and are officially COMPLETELY ORGANISED with everything. Clothes. Nappies. Blankets. Towels. Bathing Equipment. Toys.. - it was time to start washing all of his clothes and everything else.
I think it will take the next 8 weeks to actually get through it all!... but maybe it's because I'm super picky on washing everything. I always wash whites and colours separate, but with Tiley's clothes I've put each load on TWO gentle cycles, except for his towels and blankets I put on two heavy cycles. I've been so picky about what to wash with what too - First load, whites. Second, reds, Third, light colours, Fourth, dark colours, Fifth wool. I'm either being very careful about dye in clothes running and trying not to ruin his new clothes.. or I've started nesting :S. And wow, how many body suits does this bubba need?! I still don't think he has enough clothes, in fact Tim & I went out and bought another outfit on Monday and suspect that we will keep doing so until this little man starts paying for his own clothes, hehe.

Preparing To Leave Work:
One more day left... tomorrow is my last day! woohoo!.. I'm so glad to leave but I'm dreading tomorrow, how will I say goodbye to everyone? Last week was my last work meeting and I received these super cute gifts! A gorgeous bunch of flowers, a card everyone signed, hand made beanie, bib and mittens set and a cute teddy!.. naww.

The Nursery:
The nursery is finally finished!! and it looks so gorgeous! You will have to wait till next week for some pictures because as you know were in the middle of washing all of baby's clothes, so they're in Tiley's cot in piles of sizes to sort out. So I will share some photos when the room is all tidy of tiny clothes :)

Two weeks till my maternity shoot.

BABY TILEY- WEEK 27

Tiley This Week:
Tiley is about 36.6 CM (14.5 inches) from head to toe now, tripled or quadrupled from the 14 week mark! His grown half an inch in just the last week. Weighing in at TWO pounds!! YEY! I can really feel the weight in my tummy now.
Some experts say that babies begin to dream around about now - no idea what about though, my hips maybe? But it just shows how amazing and active Tiley's brain is. What a miracle!... but seriously, I don't know when this bubby sleeps!
We've been having so many conversations with the little man, we talk to him so much. He would recognise my voice by now!
His eyes are also now opening and closing :)

Tiley's Movements:
It's said that tummy bubby's move the most about 24-28 weeks. He is so incredibly active now and I've definitely noticed since 24 weeks I've felt a lot of movements and stronger movements that increase each week. I've made the absolute most of all the movements, loved every kick and turn just in case his movements do slow down or become more in a pattern. They're is no pattern or routine in his movements yet, except that he moves the most in the morning. The last week though, he has been so active all day!
I've felt a few more of the turns I felt a couple of weeks ago. The feelings like the baby rolling around. I still haven't managed to watch my belly. I am so surprised that I have felt more of them, but it's such a great feeling.
I've also had a NEW feeling. A 'shake' in my belly. It FREAKED me out. I felt my baby shake. It was like when you have a shiver when you're cold, or a spasm. Apparently some babies, around 30 weeks, do this to get into a more comfortable position, or out of an uncomfortable position. They literally shake to move! Like a fishy! It left me feeling so queasy. I wonder if it will continue? I'll keep you updated though... such an odd movement!

Midwives Appointment:
It's been five weeks since my last midwives appointment so for some reason I was SO nervous about this appointment. It made me realise that I am still scared about this pregnancy. I guess I'm still amazed that this pregnancy is going so perfectly, I'm on my toes ready for a hiccup... but the midwives appointment went perfectly!
My fundal height is measuring a week and half ahead. The midwife said it's still in normal range but makes me wonder how big bubby is... nice and healthy :). The midwife even felt Tiley move :).
My blood pressure has dropped a tiny tiny bit again, still completely normal, but it amazes me how at each appointment it drops a couple of numbers. It's gone from 130/80 (First trimester stress I guess??) to 110/74. Thank goodness it didn't go up!!
I also heard Tiley's heartbeat again - I never get tired of it. It's a miracle!
I had my gestational diabetes test too. They call if you fail the test, and they don't call if you passed. I haven't received a call so = NO GESTATIONAL DIABETES!! yeeyy. See, everything is perfect :).

Progressive Video:
Here is the MASSIVE progress Tiley had made since week 21, I am amazingly proud so take a look:
http://www.babycenter.com/2_inside-pregnancy-weeks-21-to-27_10312242.bc

The Last Trimester:
I'm finally here (although it has gone amazingly quick), the start of the third trimester and I am absolutely thrilled. It's exactly three months to go to my due date and I really can't wait! I want to make a promise though, to ENJOY what the very last of my pregnancy has to offer. To be more positive. To fix the pains and aches rather then just complain.
My back aches started quite early so I'm sure they are only going to get worse in the third trimester with a heavier baby but I need to love and enjoy the great things... the kicks, the movements, the growing belly for growing baby, the luscious hair & nails, the shopping and getting organised for baby, the pregnant shoots and everything else amazing.

Book To Read Before Baby Comes:

This book is quite controversial. Some people have told me it's fantastic, some have told me that it's terrible. I guess it's a book you love or hate but I've chosen to read it anyway. Maybe if I read one tip that I really agree with and want to try, it might be worth it? Use what tips works for me and ignore the rest?
So this book is on my 'to read before baby comes' list :).

Maternity Clothes I Adore:
I have been looking at some gorgeous maternity clothes to buy. What I've found really hard to find is gorgeous maternity pants. Their seem to be very few maternity pants about so I like finding tops I can wear with my maternity jeans or leggings. Here are some of the maternity clothes I adore. Some of them I have and some I'm planning on buying/finding:

Three week till my baby shower!
