Baby Caterpillar - 24 Weeks.

It's been an incredibly busy week pregnancy wise this week, full of swelling & high blood pressure (scary since I had pre-eclampsia with Jydan), a midwife appointment, braxton hicks and doing up the nursery!

So I woke up one morning and my legs, feet and arms were incredibly swollen. I couldn't even clench a fist! And my feet were so sore. I knew it was a normal part of pregnancy, but since I had pre-eclampsia with Jydan I thought it was better to get checked, and there it was! A BP reading of 140/105. Not very high yet, but I'm normally 120/80. It's been up and down since, although not sitting at my normal reading, so I'm just keeping an eye on it for now. I got the nurse to check if there was any protein in my urine, and there's not.. yet thank goodness! But seems it's on the cards

On a positive note, I've been working on Caterpillar's nursery! Not finished yet.

Plus I'm super excited to be 24 weeks and be classed as 'viable'

Baby Tiley- 33 Weeks.

Tiley This Week:
Bubby boy is about 4.4 pounds now (2 kilograms).
Tiley's skeleton is hardening now. His bones have been hardening for the last 5 weeks or so which probably explains my cravings for milk the last few weeks! Except the bones in his skull which aren't fused together and will now remain slightly overlapped (until baby is a few weeks old, and they wont completely fuse together until young adulthood) to make it easier for baby to get through the birth canel. Tiley's lungs are starting to mature and his practicing breathing in amniotic fluid in the womb (and peeing it out!).

Symptoms This Week:
Indigestion:
My acid reflux this week is more indigestion then heartburn. Burp Burp Burp, I feel like I'm always burping! How embarrassing.
Nesting:
I realised that I've been nesting for a while... stocking up nesting. Apparently nesting doesn't just refer to the irresistible urge to clean everything in sight but stocking up on food and supplies. Our shopping cost has been huge lately and hubby suggested that maybe were preparing for when baby comes.. and it's true! When I researched nesting it came up that, that was a form of nesting too! But now the cleaning nesting bug has hit...I can honestly say, the half of the house that I've so far worked on has never been so clean! Scrubbing, Jiffing, Windexing, Sugar Soaping, Disinfecting and Bleaching... They are my new friends at the moment ;). I think hubby's even gone into sympathy nesting mode because he sugar soaped the bathroom too! haha.
Aching Bones:
This symptom has been lingering for a while but I've definitely felt it more since nesting! My bones are on extreme aching mode and I don't just woddle I do a kinds I do a woddle limp by the end of the day. A warm shower at the end of the day often fixes this or makes it at least so much better.
Braxton Hicks:
I've had quite a few braxton hicks contractions this week, they don't bother me at all and only very rarely are they are uncomfortable... never painful for me. Sometimes annoying when I'm trying to do something and the tightness stops me but other then that, a symptom I don't really mind :). I seem to have a automatic reaction to rub my tummy when I get a contraction. I'm sure in true labour I wont want to be touching my tummy at all!!
Low Iron:
After my 26 week blood tests I got told that my iron was low. I started taking an iron liquid that really helped, helped so much that I stopped taking it after about a month - silly move! My iron has now dropped again so I'm back on the iron liquid. I do however highly recommend the iron liquid I'm on. It's called floradix and everyone who takes it highly recommends it too.

Tiley's Movements/Routine:
Tiley doesn't kick much at all anymore.. I don't think I've felt a BIG kick for about two weeks. His just running out of room now but he still moves around alot. His famous move is sticking a leg out and leaving it for a few seconds and then putting it back into position. Like a big long stretch :).
His still has his same routine, moves around in the morning the most around 6:00am and sometimes on and off until around 9am! It's been nice while on maternity leave to soak up his morning movements without being busy and rushing off to work. His also still active in the evening too after about 8pm. I love it when his active then too because I get to share it with Tim after he finishes work :).
I felt the hiccups for only the second time on Monday :). During the day he will do little moves and turns, but nothing too big in fact his quite inactive, even when his having his active times during the day his not overly active.

Those Who Have Felt Bubby Move:
I looked after a gorgeous little boy on Thursday night and he got to feel baby move, so here is our updated, and very exclusive list:

Tim (Daddy) 10th of June.. 16 weeks & 3 days.
Jyle (Uncle Jyle) Jarrett (Pop) Jordan (Uncle Jordan) 17th of June.. 17 weeks & 3 days.
Graham (Poppy Cocks) Pam 23rd of June.. 18 weeks & 2 days.
Kelly (Nanny) 26th of June.. 18 weeks & 5 days.
Bradon 27th of September... 32 weeks.

Tiley's Bed's Ready:

Tiley's bedding is all washed and his bed is made up in our room. Such a wonderful thing to look at next to our bed every morning and night. We often get an 'awwww' moment when going to bed just staring where bubby will sleep.

The Nursery:
To see the progress of our nursery look HERE (Week 20) & HERE (Week 23).
The only thing that's left to get is a nappy stacker :)

The cot!! (and the bouncer)
Tiley's first Teddy's that match his room
and cot bedding that his daddy bought
him.
The green bins for his dirty nappies
for mummy to get to and wash and
another bin for his toys.
Bubby's drawers.

Inside the cane baskets.

Tiley's clothes so far, inside the drawers and inside his
closet.... (lots on the way too)

Progress Of The Hospital Bag:
Well, the baby bag is almost done! He has his visitor outfit, going home outfit, a spare outfit, a 000 outfit, gro-suits, body suits, singlets, mittens, socks & beanies. Blanket, apricot oil and face washers for burp cloths.
Were still waiting on his first outfit (I received it but they sent a 000 instead of a 0000), newborn booties, more gro-suits, the rest of his going home outfit & his photo shoot cocoon.
Out of my bag... well... all that's packed is maternity pads, nipple pads, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, soap & bed socks. I haven't packed anything else because I don't know if I could part with my dressing gown, slippers and clothes for the next seven weeks... I think I'll pack the rest of my bag with only a month to go.

Baby Tiley- Week 32

Tiley This Week:
Tiley would weigh in around 4 pounds (1.8kilo's) now, give or take around half a pound. He weighs around half of what he will at birth. Hopefully he actually weighs over half, were hoping for a 7 pound 9ish baby :).
Tiley's also around 43 cm now and I just can't imagine him that tall. I still often reminsce on the days where his whole body was the size of my finger nail!
Tiley's producing more fat in his skin this week and his skin is starting to look more like a newborn!
Some babies have a head of hair all ready, some don't - I wonder if Tiley will or not? His daddy was completely bald and has bets that Tiley will be too. We so can't wait to see!

The Progressive Shoot:
Well.. we did do the shoot this week but while hubby was taking the photos my camera died so we had use my phone... but it meant that the photos weren't exactly the same as the other shoots (you can see the progress shoot's here (week 26) ) So this is Take One of the 31 week shoot which were not using as the progressive pictures. We will do another shoot this week to get the exact angles, heights ect and use them... Here's a picture anyway because I promised them :)
Pregnancy Symptoms:
Pelvic Pain:
It's fair to say that I did not expect this pain! I've been shocked with a lot of things this pregnancy but the pain from my pelvis.. wow. That's not fun. Tiley's head has been down since 29 weeks (I've also heard that first baby's engage alot sooner) so that would be why I have pelvic pain early... but goooddness me. I'm not impressed at all. So, It's official. The pregnancy woddle has begun! I'm also sitting like a man - legs apart and am sooo slow when I walk. I cherish everything about my pregnancy, I really love every moment but it would be an extra bonus if this pain disappeared all together ;).
Leg Cramps:
The first time I got a leg cramp during pregnancy was at 20 weeks and I haven't had one since, but I had one again this week. I'm quite surprised, I expected them more often. I think because I've been getting hubby to massage my legs and I always have a warm shower before bed it's been helping with the circulation in my legs. Hopefully no more for a while!!
Heartburn:
The heartburn is still lingering around and it's starting to get to the stage where NOTHING helps but avoid every food on the planet. The biggest thing that gives me heartburn is water.. water?? Apparently it's not, it just sti's up your stomach acids. Lovely!
Nose Bleeds:
This is a new one, as of today I have caught the pregnancy blood nose. I have noticed in the last week that my veins are so visable now and I've been given some varicose veins on my legs (so pretty, huh). The increase of blood flow has made my legs feel so heavy and now it's too much pressure for my little nose.

This week has been a great week though, one of my easiest weeks so far, I've loved every moment of it, I've had some great happy hormones to go with it too. All these symptoms are for the greater good of my baby, which make them so worth it :)

Washing Tiley's Clothes:
Since we now have everything ready for baby and are officially COMPLETELY ORGANISED with everything. Clothes. Nappies. Blankets. Towels. Bathing Equipment. Toys.. - it was time to start washing all of his clothes and everything else.
I think it will take the next 8 weeks to actually get through it all!... but maybe it's because I'm super picky on washing everything. I always wash whites and colours separate, but with Tiley's clothes I've put each load on TWO gentle cycles, except for his towels and blankets I put on two heavy cycles. I've been so picky about what to wash with what too - First load, whites. Second, reds, Third, light colours, Fourth, dark colours, Fifth wool. I'm either being very careful about dye in clothes running and trying not to ruin his new clothes.. or I've started nesting :S. And wow, how many body suits does this bubba need?! I still don't think he has enough clothes, in fact Tim & I went out and bought another outfit on Monday and suspect that we will keep doing so until this little man starts paying for his own clothes, hehe.

Preparing To Leave Work:
One more day left... tomorrow is my last day! woohoo!.. I'm so glad to leave but I'm dreading tomorrow, how will I say goodbye to everyone? Last week was my last work meeting and I received these super cute gifts! A gorgeous bunch of flowers, a card everyone signed, hand made beanie, bib and mittens set and a cute teddy!.. naww.

The Nursery:
The nursery is finally finished!! and it looks so gorgeous! You will have to wait till next week for some pictures because as you know were in the middle of washing all of baby's clothes, so they're in Tiley's cot in piles of sizes to sort out. So I will share some photos when the room is all tidy of tiny clothes :)

Two weeks till my maternity shoot.

Baby Tiley - Week 23

Tiley this week:
Tiley's hearing is development so well, his bones in his ears are starting to develop. He should be able to distinctly hear my voice, he can also hear my heart beating and my stomach rumbling! It's said that loud noises often heard in utero, eg, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, Millie barking and Tim snoring wont bother bub as much when their born! Time to get Tiley use to noise :). Were also getting Tiley use to daddy's (Tim's) voice to help him bond with his dad after, and all ready, Tiley LOVES his dad's voice! Tiley's new amazing hearing is also helping him with his balance.
Tiley's lungs are working really well now too!!

The Doppler:
For the first time we finally picked up Tiley's heartbeat on the Doppler really clearly! I guess his big enough to not swim away but knowing he doesn't like it we only did it for about a minute. It was an amazing minute listening to the sounds of magic, our son xx

Saturday Theory:
I wanted to share my 'saturday theory' with everyone. It's something that I've shared with a few people and quite funny really.....
I get all my stretching and aches on a Saturday. It's always my most uncomfortable day and I struggle alot to enjoy my pregnancy (although I never stop wanting to be pregnant). Every Saturday and only on a Saturday.
So hubby & I started saying that I'll go into labour on a Saturday as a joke. Now bubby measures two days smaller which means if he comes according to his measurements, it will be on a SATURDAY!! So our bet is that we will go into labour on Saturday November the 24th... lets see how right I'll be :)

What I know about Tiley All Ready:
It's been a couple of weeks since I've shared somethings that I know and love about Tiley all ready.
He has the most gorgeous personality all ready even though his not even born yet!
He loves his space, Tiley doesn't like to be prodded and poked. Especially with an Doppler or ultrasound probe. Even at the doctors Tiley moved away from the Doppler, the doctor laughed!
He loves his daddy's voice, Tiley doesn't move around if someone has their hands on my belly only if Tim talks to him. Then Tiley wiggles and moves to his daddy's voice!
His most active in the mornings, at about 7am Tiley is the most active he is during the whole day. Continues big strong kicks. Tim also felt his first BIG kicks in the morning at about 8:30am only yesterday!

Pelvic Floor Exercises:
I have been reminding myself to do my pelvic floor exercises, but with this baby brain, I just forget!! It's highly recommended that you do these exercises during pregnancy as the pelvic muscles stretch and become weak. Here is the excersises I do (when I remember!!)

1.
Tighten your pelvic floor muscles. Imagine drawing them up inside you. Hold this contraction as you count to 5. Let go and release the tension.
2.
Rest for about 10 seconds.
3.
Repeat the 'squeeze and lift' hold for 5 seconds, then let go of the tension. If you find holding for 5 seconds too easy, try for 7 or 10 seconds.
4.
Continue this pattern up to 8 to 10 times in one session. You may find being pregnant or having recently given birth makes your pelvic floor tire after only a few exercises. If this is the case rest and increase the amount you can do over time. Quality is better than quantity.
5.
Ideally after the 8 to 10 holding exercises you should try to do 5 to 10 short, fast, strong contractions. Again do what you can and increase over time.

The Nursery So Far:
Decorating has started and it looks sooo good :) So happy with it :).. Here's some pictures...
We still need to get a cot, rocking chair and will put up the maternity shoots :)

Justine's Baby:
Justine's baby, Jax Edward, arrived on the 24th of the 7th, a gorgeous big baby boy weighing in at 10pound 9oz! I don't know how Justine did it, but wow am I amazed by her! His a spitting image of his big brother who is only 17 months, only darker hair and darker skin. I'll be posting a photo of our first cuddle soon, so stay tuned :)
Justine you make the most beautiful little boys, Chance Anthony and Jax Edward xx

Nanny-To-Be's Birthday:.

Saturday is my Mum's birthday! We're celebrating by going out for dinner. My Mum said that she really wants to feel a BIG KICK for her birthday, so fingers crossed Mr Tiley is awake!!

Only 7 more weeks till I'm 30 weeks!!

BABY TILEY - 20 WEEKS.

Half Way:
HALF WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So over the moon to have made it! The last 20 weeks have gone SUPER quick and I’m expecting the next 20 to go quick as well! So super proud of our little treasure... our little spec of gold is really turning into something so more amazing. So this blog is pretty long this week, because it was SO exciting to be half way!

Tiley this week:
This week is a BIG week for bubs skin protection!
A protective white fat substance has been made around bub's skin to help protect the delicate skin as well as bubs skins getting thicker. The growth of fine body hair is starting to grow on the rest of bub's body. Toe nails and finger nails are also starting to grow. Can't wait to feel the darling’s soft skin!!
Some more amazing things bubby is doing this week is swallowing even more, Tiley would also start recognising my voice and have grown to about 25 CM (10 inches) from head to heal, around half of what Tiley will be when it's born! As of next week, bubs measurements will be taken from head to heal, instead of head to bum. This will make things so much easier when I research bubs size!

Progress Video:
Take a look at how much Tiley has grown and developed in the last 5 weeks:

Morning Sickness:
So just when I thought my morning sickness had left... it came back just for a couple of days this week. I've also had throat infection/flu this week so that combined with morning sickness was not fun!

Nursery:
So the painting has begun on Tiley's room... here's some photos of the room colours before and updated photos of the room all painted. I'm SO happy with how it's looking! Exactly how we pictured it :). Next week it's time to make a start on moving stuff in and decorating. Still a lot of wall decorations on order, we don't have a cot yet and a lot of other stuff, so the decorating won’t be finished for about a month or more.

Did we finally start our progressive shoot?
....................................................................
WE SURE DID!!
Remember these are a set of 4 photo's throughout my pregnancy, in the same position, wearing the same clothes at different stages of my pregnancy that will go into bubs room with a photo of bub when it's born. I'm not sure which ones we will use as the actual progressive one, but here are some of my favs. PS. I THOUGHT I was smiling... apparently I can't smile when I've got the flu!

These will go on the brown feature wall in the babys room so I wanted them to reflect the green walls.

Baby Tiley- 19 Weeks.

Tiley this week:
Its a huge week for sensory development this week.. such a clever little thing! The nerve cells for each sensory is now developing in bubs brain.
Nerve cell production begins to slow down now while the little body focusses on the strengthening, developing and growing it's current nerves.
Tiley's hair on it's head is starting to sprout.. I wonder what colour? This is probably the biggest thing i'm looking forward to seeing on bubby. The most exciting thing. There is no way of telling until bub is born, there's no way a scan or test can show so it makes it so exciting!!
They say from now and over the next 10 weeks is the most active time for the little babe before it gets too crowded. Looking forward to making the most of the movements.
The best thing about my pregnancy so far is knowing if Tiley is asleep or awake by the movements.

We've added a few more people to the list so here it is:

Those who have felt bubby move:
Tim (Daddy) 10th of June.. 16 weeks & 3 days.
Jyle (Uncle Jyle) Jarrett (Pop) Jordan (Uncle Jordan) 17th of June.. 17 weeks & 3 days.
Graham (Grand dad) Pam 23rd of June.. 18 weeks & 2 days.
Kelly (Nanny) 26th of June.. 18 weeks & 5 days.

Morning Sickness:
I'm STILL getting morning sickness :(. Although it is alot better then it was in the first trimester but i'm still a bit sick.. sick enough to have to have a day off work every now & then still.
Names:
This week we picked names!!!! YEEYY!! Were not sharing them.. yet ;) but we are very in love with the names. For me it made it so much more exciting that very soon we could privately talk to this baby by name. For now though, we will keep it as Tiley :P

Breastfeeding:
This week I've been researching breast feeding, were definately going to try as much as possible so I want to know exactly what to do and how to do it properly, so heres some tips I found:
-Don't wait to get help. The longer bub is having trouble feeding the less bub will want to feed from you.
-After a traumatic birth for baby, brest feeding straight after birth is the best way to make bub feel safe.-Make sure bubs mouth is wide open so he/she can get as much milk as possible and I can reduce the risk of dry and cracked nipples.
-Have positive support.
-The more your comfortable, the more baby is comfortable.
-Don't forget that practice makes perfect!
LOOK WHAT WE ORDERED!!
So this is a gender predictor. It's 98% accurate and picks up if bubs a boy or a girl. It works by reading the chemicals in your urine :)... It should be here anyday and hopefully we can update with what it says on the next blog! :)

Some clothes we've got for Tiley so far:
My FAVOURITE outifts so far. A thick & warm body suit for next winter. My favourite hand-made MCN. Peter Alexander PJ's we bought on our honeymoon. Fluffy white booties. I love DAD socks. Tigger body suit + matching hat. Jeans from cotton on kids.

MY NAPPY COLLECTION NOW:
I haven't counted how many we have now, but I think we only need a few more smalls and we can get the medium & large's later :)

Nursery:
So we now offically have a BABYS ROOM!! Tim has started fixing up the walls and will start painting next week. So a bit of planning has been going on the last few days. Here's our ideas and what were looking at buying:

Woody brown feature wall, Nature/Forest green for all the other walls.

Matching Safari drawers, bookshelf and toy box.

Wall Decorations.

Well this is our update for this week.
21 weeks till baby is due!!

BABY TILEY- WEEK 12

12 Weeks:
Wow, I don't know I have ever been so proud. It's official.. Baby Tiley is here to stay forever & ever & ever!!!! wow wow wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just amazed!!
This Week:
This week was the quickest week ever because when we went for our ultrasound on Monday we found out we were 4 days ahead. So back to our original dates before the 6 week ultrasound changed it. I think after this they don't change your dates again and it will just be down to if the baby is small for dates or big for dates. This means I'm now due on the 22nd of November.

Here is our little one now:
The Ultrasound:
Bubby has grown sooo much in 6 weeks! Since the last ultrasound!
The photo of Tiley is much clearer then this. You can see two legs and an arm, an ear, a nose and its so cute!
Tiley's feet are about one cm long, how super cute!
Tiley's eye's have now moved to the front of their face.. they began at the side.
Tiley's liver and kidneys are now working perfectly. Bubs kidneys are now starting to make urine in the bladder.
Tiley moves if my tummy is prodded, although I cannot feel Tiley yet.
It's a pity we will only get pictures now and not on a disc as it's so hard to take a picture of a picture.
Tiley was sleeping this time and we woke the poor thing up & then it turned away from us.. so clever knowing to turn away from the ultrasound, bub must be making itself a good brain :)
Private VS Public:
I also cancelled my obstetrician appointment and we decided to go with the public health system. I couldn't believe how much it all costs! It was $200 the first visit, $85 every four weeks and then a $2,000 fee. We would rather have that money in savings for the baby or buy something for the baby that they really need.
So I'm off to the doctor again on Saturday so she can book me in the public system :). I am loving the opening hours of my new doctor surgery.. weekdays to 7:30pm except Fridays to 5:30pm and open on Saturdays.
Nusery Inspiration:
Each week we try & organise, decide or buy something new each week. The last few weeks was modern cloth nappies- check out last weeks blog :)
This week it's the nursery!

  Inspiration photos:
Were thinking dark brown wooden furniture & browns, creams & greens. Possibly a light misty green like the second photo with a brown feature wall.
Jungle and zoo animal wall stickers... lots of monkeys, lions, elephants... I'm going to collect alot of photos of what we exactly want first before we go and buy anything. We then know exactly what we want to buy & know everything will match.
It'll be really neutral but gorgeous so we can start plans and buy nursery stuff at any time. We've only got 6 months left!
It seems only yesterday I was saying 6 months left till our wedding!! It goes too quick!

Next week I will be in the second trimester.
8 weeks till I'm half way!!
