Baby Jydan - 10 Months.

Nine Months:
40-44

While being babysat by nanny
My little boy is getting soo smart. He has learnt so much in the passed month it's been amazing to watch. My beautiful darling is growing up and learning and taking on the world. I just loving being home and molding his little mind. The plan was that I would return to work when Jydan turned one. But it's getting so close and I really, really don't want to. I applied for a couple of weekend job and maybe I'll apply for some night time positions but I don't want to miss out on Jydan through the day. For the first time yet I managed to leave him for more then an hour though, He stayed at my mums for three hours. At this time Jydan decided he was too cool for school... he wouldn't sleep. Like he literally woke every hour through the night. Turns out it was because we swept Jydan into a sleeping bag instead of blankets. Ugh! Who would have thought It took us weeks to figure out that of course my child is THAT picky, changing such a minor thing would muck up his whole sleep.. he's so picky about everything else! So we are finally getting more sleep and the bad habit is finally disappearing.. yey!
Jydan is going through a really shy faze. It's soo cute!! If a stranger looks at him, he'll look away. He has always done it every now and then and now it's all the time. He'll snuggle  right in and hide his face. soo cute!! He likes looking at strangers but once they make eye contact he hides.. and then he'll unhide.. and hide. Like a little game. So funny! Probably one of the biggest things I love about him at the moment!

Being funny this month.

Teething:
My little man has 4 teeth in 2 months.. not bad my little man!
He teeth's soo well. We don't knoe that he has cut a tooth until it's cut! and I check and and there's a little sharpy there!

Swimming:
Swimming is going really well. Well, as long as Jydan has his morning nap before hand! haha. Sometimes it makes him sooo tired and sooo crabby! But the other times he is really good at it, especially paddle and kicking. Paddle and kicking is probably his strongest and best part of his swimming lessons. And not being biased, he is probably the best paddle and kicker in his little group!
He is making friends at swimming now, it's really cute! And they're all about the same age. In the whole group they're all between 9 and 15 months :).

Jydan's Milestones:

Jydan is commando crawling really well now. I thought his little wormy caterpillar crawl was really cute so I'm sad that he gave that up lol.
Jydan is pulling himself up on everything now and starting to furniture walk. It's crazy! I can't believe he is doing that. I don't think it'll be long until he's walking. He took A step too. Of course towards the bath. haha!
He says about 16 or so words now, lets see if I can remember them all;
Hello, Mum, Dad, Bub, Mimi (Millie), More, Apple, Mmmm (Milk), Ta, Up, Down, Boooo (Book), Ball, What, no, Uh Oh..I think that's all. He makes lots of noises too. The other day I said brum brum car and he said it too.
Jydan has been having alot of finger food lately. He is more interested in feeding himself, so lots of chunks and food he can feed himself. He is doing sooo well with it!
Jydan now drinks out a pop top. He kept stealing my pop top water bottle so I bought him a kiddies one, and he's a pro with it!
Jydan absalutely loooves doing puzzles and is getting the hand of them. He can pull all the pieces out himself and tries to put them back in, but they don't fit. He is learning.

Reflux:
We had to give Jydan a bit of reflux medicine this month, probably a whole week out of the month. But other then that, nothing! Not even a little vomit! Yey!

Eczema:
Eczema hasn't been tooo bad. A couple of outbreaks but nothing too serious. We seem to be fairly on top of it these days.

Routine:
Jydan had a fairly bad month for sleep. What we thought was a simple 9 month sleep regression or a bit of a gurgly stomach turns out Mr fussy pots was soo irritated by a sleeping bag. Because he was crawling all around his cot, we changed him into a sleeping bag instead of blankets. He hated it and started waking every hour through the night. By the time we realised that that was the cause he was already in the habit of waking every hour! Gosh! Now we've changed him back to blankets he has gone down to waking 2-3 times a night. Which is alot better then about 12! ;). Hopefully things keep improving :).

Sunday Craft Days:

To be honest, we've only done two craft days this month! We have been so busy! But the two weeks we did do craft, it was so fun!
My favourite one was probably the paint stamping! Make sure you tune in for my craft for babies posts to see what crafts we've been up to :)

Health Clinic Appointment:
We haven't got to the health clinic this month, it's been really bad weather and raining and I don't want to be walking in the rain. But I'll get onto it soon.

Paediatrician Appointment:
We had a paeds appointment and Jydan is doing sooo well with his growing. I'm so proud. So much so that I cancelled his future dietition appointments. :). He still requires his iron and Vit D liquids but We are hoping that hell be off them soon. He has follow up blood tests in about 2 months.

Weight/Height/Looks:
Jydan is about 8.4 kilos now, which is 18.5 pounds. He is growing really well now. I'm so proud! It's taking alot of hard work to get him to grow so it makes me ubbbber proud. He is fitting into size 0's now (6-12 month clothing) but still some 00's. It's mainly pants that are 0's. He is fairly tall for his weight.
Jydan has the most gorgeous face expressions. He can tell a whole story with his face. It's gorgeous.

Nappies:
It's been raining fairly bad at the moment so Jydan has only been in cloth nappies for about 80 or so percent of the time so I can catch up on washing. During the night and on Wednesdays he is in disposables. Gee, I can't believe how much disposables we go through in just that time. It's been hard trying to find a disposable that doesn't leak too. Jydan is a very heavy wetter, cloth are definately best for him.
He is now in medium cloth nappies and crawler disposables. Last month he was in small cloth and infant (one size up from newborn) sposies.

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:

Jydan absolutely loves his little teddy called Fred. He can't sleep without him and we oftern can't go out without him. If Jydan is a bit grizzly. Fred always fixes him. It's almost like a dummy! haha.
Jydan loooves standing up and trying to walk. It's his favourite thing to do. And now we can leave him standing holding onto things it makes things so much easier.
At the moment, Jydan is hating going to sleep!! After crawling around the cot, pulling himself up and down and having a sook. He won't just go to sleep anymore!
There's a TV show called 'chuggington' he ADORE's it!! We don't let him watch much TV but we let him watch this. It's about trains, kinda a modern version of Thomas the Tank Engine. We had the TV on one morning while I had a lay-in and realised how much he loved it! and that was it!

Feeding:

We are still breastfeeding!!! YEY! I'm so proud! Jydan has about 4-5 feeds a day. He also has about 4 solid meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner. We are doing more baby led-weaning these days but some meals we do pureed, especially breakfast so he can get more into him. His favourite food is rice rusks. He absalutely loves them.

Baby Jydan - 7 months 2 Weeks

Thirty - Two Weeks:
My baby bear is now 7 & 1/2 months & it's absolutely blown me away! I have seen a few newborns lately and it spins me out how super quick he is changing. He was once a teeny tiny little bear, so still and quiet, with little wind smiles. Seven and a half months later and I've totally forgotten how super tiny he was (although a biggen at 8 pound 5 oz). I love this time though. I love that I can sit him down to entertain himself. I love that he will tell me he wants something by making sounds or trying to get something, that he had opinions about what he wants and who he wants to go to. He has a drop dead gorgeous personality!!

Dressed up as batman...
This week has been a mixed bag of things. From his first costume/dress up outing, mothers group, Tim having four days off work, visiting family, shopping, starting early toilet training (which you can read about here) to ending this week with a very nasty cough :(. We were suppose to start swimming today finally but the little mans cough is just terrible. We will see how it goes tomorrow and if we have to see the doctor. We got the blood tests results back too! Jydan is lacking in Vitamin D and Iron. It's a bit strange because Jydan is eating lots of iron rich food. We will receive a script in the mail in the next couple of days for some supplements.

This week we have also cut down Jydan's reflux medicine!! He has now halved his dose for the morning, yey! Finally.

PS I'm loving how Jydan is more upright in his weekly photos now he can sit! yey!
Favourite Toy This Week:
This little toy, it's a funny thing, and if you shake it, it whistles!

Favourite Thing To Do:
DRINK!! What a good thing to do? I actually think he is having a bit of  a growth spurt because he has been wanting more and longer feeds lately.

Favourite Book:
Jydan is starting to really love books, not so much sitting still long enough to be read one, but he loves playing with them. I'm trying to teach him the word 'book'.. I'm guessing he will say 'boo'. He is really loving touch and feel books!

Favourite Food:
Hmmm all up his favourites are banana, mango and chicken. I think this week it is chicken again.

Favourite Word:
He said bub this week.. is that classed as a word?
Milestones:
Jydan said bump this week and has been pushing his arms up straight when he is on his tummy, almost like a sit up position?
Now Jydan has mastered sitting, all he wants to do is stand! He loves standing, it's so cute but a bit too grown up for my liking! Sometimes he gets too excited and starts bopping along, hehe. He has never used a jolly jumper so it's all him learning to bounce :)
He is getting more and more better at drinking his water from a sippy cup.
He is really identifying with words now, especially 'up', he gets really excited!

Personality This Week:
So gorgeously cheeky! He has been completely refusing to sleep lately and I realised its because the poor thing was getting sick!

Moment Of The Week:
 First time on the potty!!!

Outfit Of The Week:

We were walking through Kmart and I realised how super cute Jydan's outfit was.. It was a 'hold Jydan up' moment ;)

Photo Of The Week:
My dads hand, mine and Jydans...

Baby Jydan - 7 Months

Seven Months:

30 weeks:
It's been such a big month this month, full of amazing milestones, I'm beside myself. There seems to be such a big difference between six months and seven months. Not with growth, because the little man isn't growing as well as  he should but with his milestones.
A few things that have gone on this month is my gallbladder surgery, Jydan graduated to a big baby carseat instead of a capsule, We had my mothers group, my study group, church, I lost my milk supply and got it back again, Jydan learnt to sleep unwrapped, we booked in for swimming lesson, had my sisters birthday, had family photos, 6 month immunisations and a health clinic appointment, play dates, music, Jydan started wearing the next size up, finally drank from a bottle but now drinks from a cup, started eating more foods and now says five words!
It's also been a big 'mummy' week for me! I put him in crèche for the first time.. and the second time while I went to my mums group. It was only for an hour, and I could see him the whole time, but it was a HUGE step for me. I think the fact that I had to leave him while I was in the hospital helped me be able to leave him, but it was still really hard. Ugh, but I did it! My dad said that if I don't leave him by the time he is one he is going to have an intervention, haha. It only took me six months :P.

Millie the dog has been able to take Jydan a bit more nowadays, they even play fetch together! So cute! Jydan will tap the ball and Millie will pick it up and put it on his bum (Don't ask!) but so cute! Jydan get's so excited by her too, so lovely.

Jydan's Milestones:

Jydan is now saying FIVE words now. I can't believe it. Speaking in single syllable words all day words pays off, huh? He now says 'MUM 'APPLE' 'DAD' 'NO' and 'MORE'. He is incredibly clever, I can't believe it. He also mimics sounds and mouth movements. He will watch what you're saying, mimic mouth movements and then just gives up and squalls. It's so gorgeous!  I'm not expecting anymore words anytime soon though, surely not?!

Although Jydan can't crawl yet, he can mysteriously move himself for one side of the lounge to the other. I have no idea how? All of a suddon he has moved a few meters, turned 360 degrees and flipped himself around. ha! I think it's his legs. I think he pushes off with them?

Jydan loves his feet, and thinks they belong right in his mouth! He has stopped doing his crunches now, I think he just lifts his legs up to his face instead.
Jydan has been laughing for a while now but he has caught the giggles. The little munchkin has caught the giggles and he laughs at anything, apparently im hilarious!

Reflux:
So Jydan hasn't grown out of his reflux yet... so much for babies should be over it by six months. It was actually recommended that Jydan went on a stronger medicine, but I'm going to wait because it's known to cause constipation. I'm going to wait 'till he can sit more independently, see if being more upright settles it down.

Eczema:
As you can see on his poor little face, we are still trying to find the best way to kick this eczema in the butt. Literally nothing is working and he seems to be reacting to everything, more so natural products because they're plant based. And plants irriate eczema. So we are reviewing mine and his diet. Arggghh!

Routine:
I'm really happy with Jydan's routine and he seems fairly happy with it too. He is pretty settled and happy, so it works well for him :). It chops and changes and sometimes he sleeps for longer but generally it's three 45 minute naps, unless he sleeps on me which he sometimes does with his 3pm sleep. I love our cuddle time! He wakes for the day either 7.30 or 8.30am and goes to bed at 7pm. He has 4-5 milk feeds a day, depending if he sleeps through the night, and 3 solid meals a day that are anywhere between 3 & 1/2 - 4 & 1/2 tablespoons a meal. We change his bum every 2 hours except for the morning its every hour, because he's a pee machine.  He poops everyday at 6:10pm, almost to the dot.. so funny! We have a bath around 6.20 and sometimes we get caught :/.

Health Clinic Appointment:
Jydan is reaching all the right milestones and is doing exceptionally well with his words. We need to try and put more weight on him as he hasn't doubled his birth weight yet, but other then that, everything is going great according the health nurse.

Paediatrician Appointment:
Uggghhhh our last appointment was cancelled, and we have another one booked for the 19th. For goodness sake, He is now 7 months and has had one appointment that he's suppose to have monthly.

Weight/Height/Looks:
This month Jydan only put on about 160grams. Combination of my milk doing funny things and Jydan usually not gaining enough in general. It seems to be less and less each month. So we've been told to put him on a more fatty diet now.. avocado galore! More meats and a little bit of veg oil.
Jydan is 7.2 kilos, which is 15.8 pounds and 68cm (26.7 inches). His tiny head is 41 cm (16.1 inches).

Nappies:
Between the cold rainy weather and being unable to get the nappies dry and myself not being able to
bend a great deal to get them hung up or in the machine because of surgery (which I feel I can get back to normal now) we've had to use sposeis every now and then, but still mainly cloth. I'm on the look out to get some more.

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:
Sleeping is a bit of a dislike at the moment, man can this babe refuse to sleep. He sleeps fine on me, but not really practical 90% of the time. He sleeps well at night most of the time  and sometimes he's a breeze to put to sleep, but goodness me, other times.. like this morning!! He is loving a lot of his toys at the moment, especially his play table. And music, he loves music. His favourite song that I sing to him is the alphabet.. good choice, Jydan!
He doesn't like it when he does a poop and tries to wiggle away from it. Poor thing doesn't realise that it's going to follow him until he finishes and I can change him.
He is really loving standing up at the moment, he is a big wobbler though so we have to hold him.

Feeding:

I'm so proud, So, I lost my milk while I was in hospital but I've amazingly got it back!! Yey! So we're feeding amazingly again. And I'm still determined to feed him until he is about one and a half :).
He eats LOTS too. around 4 tablespoons each meal. He loves chicken and he loves mango! He is a bit of a picky eater and if he doesn't like it, he will refuse it. So I tend to hide the things he doesn't like in foods he does. He is drinking a bit of water with his food now too, from a sippy cup.

Baby Jydan - 6 Months 2 Weeks.

Twenty-Eight Weeks:

Almost to the big '30 weeks' wow! And it seems like over night Jydan has really turned into a bigger baby. Trying to discover and learn more. He is so active and I think that's why he is such a little boy. He never stops moving! Even if he's sitting on my lap he will wiggle, wiggle, wiggle! But I wouldn't swap his little gorgeous personality for the world though.

We were suppose to have a peads appointment to check Jydan's head growth... but it was cancelled, again! I was a bit annoyed actually, he is suppose to have monthly appointments and he's 6 & 1/2 months now and has only had ONE appointment (grr!). But the highlights of the week was playdates and lunch dates with other mums, family photos which was Jydan's first time at a park, family fun, MOPS and Jydans first time at the crèche, and my sisters birthday!
For my sisters birthday...

Favourite Toy This Week:

Jydan's play table. Oh my goodness, he loves this thing! Because he hasn't mastered sitting yet, he sits on my lap and we play together. So fun!

Favourite Thing To Do:

I mention it all the time but Jydan really, really loves bath time. His favourite thing to do is have a bath! And he has a blast in there!

Favourite Book:

Jydan is loving books with flaps at the moment because he has learnt to open the flaps! I think that's so clever.

Favourite Food:
Definitely still mango! Mr picky does love his fruit though, not so much his veggies. He has been a bit funny with his solids lately actually, I think it's his teething giving him trouble!

Favourite Word:
Not so much a word, but he's learnt to make bubbles with his lips and loves it!!

Milestones:
Jydan is working more and more on his army crawling, he is getting a little further and can probably move himself half a metre or so now :).
At about four months, Jydan stopped rolling. He learnt to do it early and then got over it. It was a bit funny. Well now he's picking it up again and rolling both ways.
Jydan has always been a chatterbox but he is babbling more and more. He even learnt to blow bubbles! He may be a spitting image of his dad, but I think he has his mums personality ;).
Jydan's learnt to WAVE too. I couldn't believe it. We wave goodbye to dad every morning and make a big deal of waving 'ta ta' and he waved goodbye to my Mum!

Personality This Week:
Jydan has been really talkative this week. Like I said above, he has always been chatterbox but it seems to be even more lately. So many new sounds and imitating some words, so cute.
He has been grizzly about his teeth though. The silly tooth is being really sore :(

Moment Of The Week:

First time on a swing, aww!!
Outfit Of The Week:

My new favourite overalls! PS. How cute are little boys in overalls!!

Photo Of The Week:
We had family photos this week, and had some gorgeous photos done. I'll post about them soon :) But here is one of my favourite photos!

Baby Jydan - 6 Months 1 Week

Twenty-Seven Weeks:
This week has been CRAZY! The week started off with me still in hospital. And then Jydan picked up a cold, and then I caught it too. For his first cold, his little body coped with it really well. I think that's because of the fact that he's breastfed. I was going to buy a humidifier but he was over it after about 48 hours. The cough lingered a bit, but so does mine every time I have a cold. My cold went away really quick too :).
So we didn't start swimming this week like we were suppose to because I'm going to wait till the cold/cough is completely out of his little immune system. We also didn't get along to playgroup but we had SO much to catch up on since I was away so we were rather busy.
The poor little Mr though, after copping a couple of days of a cold, the teething monster came back. Humph. Looking forward to seeing my grizzle free bub!

Favourite Toy This Week:

Explain to me why I introduced music toys?! Ha, he absolutely loves them though and poor mummy is left with a headache!

Favourite Thing To Do:

Jydan just LOVES nappy free time. It's one of the only times he is happy to be left alone and entertain himself. I try to give it to him lots because he seems to try to crawl a lot more without a nappy on.
Oh, and he has NEVER peed during nappy free time until the other day where he peed TWICE.. fail :/.
Oh oh and he just really loves playing pick-a-boo. He even tries to play with strangers, haha.

Favourite Book:

Basically any book with bright pictures :).

Favourite Food:
MANGO! Jydan just loves anything mixed with mango. I actually really don't like mango but I really liked other fruits mixed with mango and find myself going 'one spoon for you and one for me'.. hehe!

Favourite Word:
It's not so much of a favourite food for Jydan, as he hasn't said it since but the other day, Jydan looked at his dad and said ............... 'DAD'. It was so gorgeous!

Milestones:
Saying 'Dad' was pretty big milestone.. let's hope he discovers the word again!
He has started to make more sounds when talking, and babbling a lot more :).
He is also learning (very slowly) to sleep unwrapped. He uses a zip-up swaddle and we're slowly unzipping :).

Personality This Week:
Uhh.. do I admit it? He's been a crab bum! The teething and all. He definitely does have his happy moments though and he cacks himself laughing at times, but majority of the time he has been a bit upset. My poor little darling.

Moment Of The Week:
Army crawling in the rudies ;)

Outfit Of The Week:
Jydan wearing his first 0 outfit (6-9 months) It's a very small 0 outfit, so it's not true to size though. It's also not a very cute outfit but he needed more winter outfits - and I wasn't going to buy more in his current size that he's almost out of :)

Photo Of The Week:

Picture of perfection :)
