Baby Jydan - 11 Months.

Nine Months:
44-47 weeks

Wow, I can't believe Jydan is ONE in a MONTH! Party planning is in full swing and I'm SO excited.
Talking about Jydan turning one, we had his first birthday photos done...

I'll reveal the photo on Jydan's first birthday post. I wanted to do a cake smash but with all Jydan's allergies and Jydan's birthday being a hungry caterpiller theme a watermelon smash was so fitting, it was crazy! We had the same photographer for our maternity shoot and Jydan's newborn shoot and I can't recommend TK's photography enough! :D. The first take and second take went soo bad. Luckily Tanya captured some cute photos and some family snaps between teething screams and tantrums. My poor little man did not cope that day at all.. uh! But we're doing TAKE THREE a bit later on. When Jydan is a bit better.

We've had some AWFUL teething going on this month. It's been horrendous! My poor little man. We've had some pretty super fun times too. Besides birthday organising, this month we had a holiday interstate, which you can read about HERE  and went to my uncles wedding which you can read about HERE, my Opa's birthday dinner, football grand final, learning new and exciting things like furniture walking and exploring new foods!

We are battling a pretty bad rash at the moment... We've been to the doctors twice about it and we're still not sure what it is! A viral infection, a reaction or German measles!!

Jydan also had his first 'big boy' accident this month too. He sprained his wrist!! yes , my 11 month old SPRAINED HIS WRIST! I can't believe it! He was trying to furniture walk and then he let go, and lost his balance, and fell on his arm! He was pretty good about it though and it healed up pretty quick!

Wrapping his sprained wrist up in an icey face washer.
It's been a pretty hard month actually, on not much sleep at all, but that's okay, we all have our bad times... lets hope for a better month this month!

Teething:
We've had some AWFUL teething going on this month. It's been horrendous! My poor little man. We've had some pretty super fun times too He is cutting two wisdom's and a canine. Apparently the canines are the nasty ones so I'm kinda glad that we are half way through them :/. What's making it all worse is he's cross cutting. If teething wasn't bad enough.

Swimming:
We've had one week off swimming this month and will have this wednesday off too for his little buddy's first birthday party! I can't believe he is off to first birthday parties now! Anyway, he is doing so well at swimming. He is a fantastic little paddle and kicker, the teacher seems to be always impressed.
We have to time his naps perfectly on swimming day because if he's too tired he is soo crabby. But if he's awake, he's happy :).

Jydan's Milestones:

Jydan is FINALLY crawling properly! He has been commando crawling since he was nine months and has finally got up on his knees. We didn't think he would actually ever crawl! He is now furniture walking, so we just thought he would skip it and walk! We weren't too worried though because he is so good with his words. He even says 'I love you' now!! It's soo gorgeous, he says 'I laaa you' awww, bless him! So that's his first three word sentence, and what a gorgeous sentence! I think that proves we say that soo much to him - hehe. He also said at one point, while he was mid-feed 'More Yum Yum'.. it was gorgeous! Melted my heart. He got of the boob, looked at me and said 'More yum yum?' soo cute!
I really love that he communicates soo well. He doesn't use his words all the time, I don't expect him to at this age, but still! Some of his favourite words this month have been "up" "down" and "what" (as in 'what's that?').
Jydan drinks out of a pop top now. I would drink out of a pop top drink bottle and Jydan always wa nted to share - as our gorgeous babes do so we bought him a little filtered pop top water bottle that's small enough for him to hold and he is going great at it... it just gets very wet and messy.. a bib is always in order.

Reflux:
Because we are using nurofen (for the first time boohoo) for his teeth his poor tummy has been playing up too. When we bought the nurofen from the chemist (we have the best chemist) they did say that it can cause belly problems to those who have sensitive guts. Yep, that's poor jydy bum - and yep his stomach did gurgle alot the next day after giving it to him. So we are giving him reflux medicine too at the moment. I feel soo guilty because at the moment he is having vit D, iron, zantac and nurofen and panadol when needed.

Eczema:
Eczema has been pretty good for the most of the month but pretty nasty the last couple of days. With this mystary rash his eczema has been soo bad. We've had to bathe him in pinetarson and cover his red body in cortisone. It's pretty nasty, the poor little boy.

Routine:
With holidaying and teething, routine hasn't been going very well-at all! Actually he has made his own little routine.. waking at 2 am - 5am. Apparently that's the time to party! haha! We've just been putting him in our bed because I'm not getting up every 5 minutes :/.
When it's bad and he needs to be rocked back to sleep, I just go in the lounge and chuck a show on and rock him. Oh well.. he usually sleeps in till about 9 when he does it. I make a joke that he still thinks he is a newborn! haha.
He has two naps a day still, thank goodness. He has a 10am one and a 2pm. I hope he doesn't drop these anytime soon :P. My sanity time ;). It means I can get house work done and spend more time with Jydan when he's awake too!

Health Clinic Appointment:
Jydan went to the health clinic this month and actually LOST a little bit of weight. He also hasn't grown at all! I was so surprised, I suspected he had!
As usual, the nurse is always surprised about the amount of words Jydan knows... I think they don't believe me? I must say, I don't really know of any other bubs the same age that says the same amount of words.

Paediatrician Appointment:
No paeds app this month...

Weight/Height/Looks:
Jydan is about 8.3 kilos now , he was 8.4 kilos last month, so I was a bit sad. So that 18.29 pounds.. so yep he's tiny, lol! He is 71 cms tall, which is 27.9 inches, which isn't too bad! His height isn't far off average. Jydan is completely in 0's now, 6-12 month clothing. I'm so glad because he has so many really really cute clothes in this size! :D
Jydan has the biggest beautiful eyes, they are soo dark too, some people ask if they are black! So gorgeous!
Jydan's hair colour is really out now, now that his hair is growing more and quicker. He still hasn't got as much hair as he was born with.. I think he will be about 13 months until he does! I can't believe he lost it all.
Jydan's about to go up in sock sizes too, into 1-2 year old socks. :)

Nappies:
I got the cutest nappy made for Jydan's first birthday! It's so gorgeous! Just to match his hungry caterpillar party and photoshoot theme ;)

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:
Jydan still loves his teddy called Fred! It's so adorable , he can't sleep without him.. aww! He kisses him to sleep too.
I think his favourite thing of all though is ME! He loves me soo much! I'm not just saying it because I'm his mum but he wants to be with me or on me 24/7, haha! He even wants to sleep in our bed!! My sweet, sweet mummys boy. It definitely makes me feel loved too :D
At the moment Jydan is hating food, ugh! What a horrible thing to hate, gr! Hopefully he gets over his little food phobia. It's because of his teethies. They must be really sore for him.
He also had a cot phobia. Another horrible thing to hate haha.. I think we are finally getting over his little cot phobia.

Feeding:
I can't believe we are only a month away from our twelve month breastfeeding goal! I'm really proud of how close we've come. We'll definitely make it too! :D. After twelve months I'm thinking of weaning him through the day, but I'm not sure.. I haven't really decided. I'm sure Ill let you know though ;). He's feeding alot more atm because he isn't really eating solids. He is probably having about 5 tablespoons a day if he's lucky! He use to have 5 tablespoon a meal, 3 X a day, plus afternoon tea! So I hope he builds up his apatite again!

Baby Jydan - 10 Months.

Nine Months:
40-44

While being babysat by nanny
My little boy is getting soo smart. He has learnt so much in the passed month it's been amazing to watch. My beautiful darling is growing up and learning and taking on the world. I just loving being home and molding his little mind. The plan was that I would return to work when Jydan turned one. But it's getting so close and I really, really don't want to. I applied for a couple of weekend job and maybe I'll apply for some night time positions but I don't want to miss out on Jydan through the day. For the first time yet I managed to leave him for more then an hour though, He stayed at my mums for three hours. At this time Jydan decided he was too cool for school... he wouldn't sleep. Like he literally woke every hour through the night. Turns out it was because we swept Jydan into a sleeping bag instead of blankets. Ugh! Who would have thought It took us weeks to figure out that of course my child is THAT picky, changing such a minor thing would muck up his whole sleep.. he's so picky about everything else! So we are finally getting more sleep and the bad habit is finally disappearing.. yey!
Jydan is going through a really shy faze. It's soo cute!! If a stranger looks at him, he'll look away. He has always done it every now and then and now it's all the time. He'll snuggle  right in and hide his face. soo cute!! He likes looking at strangers but once they make eye contact he hides.. and then he'll unhide.. and hide. Like a little game. So funny! Probably one of the biggest things I love about him at the moment!

Being funny this month.

Teething:
My little man has 4 teeth in 2 months.. not bad my little man!
He teeth's soo well. We don't knoe that he has cut a tooth until it's cut! and I check and and there's a little sharpy there!

Swimming:
Swimming is going really well. Well, as long as Jydan has his morning nap before hand! haha. Sometimes it makes him sooo tired and sooo crabby! But the other times he is really good at it, especially paddle and kicking. Paddle and kicking is probably his strongest and best part of his swimming lessons. And not being biased, he is probably the best paddle and kicker in his little group!
He is making friends at swimming now, it's really cute! And they're all about the same age. In the whole group they're all between 9 and 15 months :).

Jydan's Milestones:

Jydan is commando crawling really well now. I thought his little wormy caterpillar crawl was really cute so I'm sad that he gave that up lol.
Jydan is pulling himself up on everything now and starting to furniture walk. It's crazy! I can't believe he is doing that. I don't think it'll be long until he's walking. He took A step too. Of course towards the bath. haha!
He says about 16 or so words now, lets see if I can remember them all;
Hello, Mum, Dad, Bub, Mimi (Millie), More, Apple, Mmmm (Milk), Ta, Up, Down, Boooo (Book), Ball, What, no, Uh Oh..I think that's all. He makes lots of noises too. The other day I said brum brum car and he said it too.
Jydan has been having alot of finger food lately. He is more interested in feeding himself, so lots of chunks and food he can feed himself. He is doing sooo well with it!
Jydan now drinks out a pop top. He kept stealing my pop top water bottle so I bought him a kiddies one, and he's a pro with it!
Jydan absalutely loooves doing puzzles and is getting the hand of them. He can pull all the pieces out himself and tries to put them back in, but they don't fit. He is learning.

Reflux:
We had to give Jydan a bit of reflux medicine this month, probably a whole week out of the month. But other then that, nothing! Not even a little vomit! Yey!

Eczema:
Eczema hasn't been tooo bad. A couple of outbreaks but nothing too serious. We seem to be fairly on top of it these days.

Routine:
Jydan had a fairly bad month for sleep. What we thought was a simple 9 month sleep regression or a bit of a gurgly stomach turns out Mr fussy pots was soo irritated by a sleeping bag. Because he was crawling all around his cot, we changed him into a sleeping bag instead of blankets. He hated it and started waking every hour through the night. By the time we realised that that was the cause he was already in the habit of waking every hour! Gosh! Now we've changed him back to blankets he has gone down to waking 2-3 times a night. Which is alot better then about 12! ;). Hopefully things keep improving :).

Sunday Craft Days:

To be honest, we've only done two craft days this month! We have been so busy! But the two weeks we did do craft, it was so fun!
My favourite one was probably the paint stamping! Make sure you tune in for my craft for babies posts to see what crafts we've been up to :)

Health Clinic Appointment:
We haven't got to the health clinic this month, it's been really bad weather and raining and I don't want to be walking in the rain. But I'll get onto it soon.

Paediatrician Appointment:
We had a paeds appointment and Jydan is doing sooo well with his growing. I'm so proud. So much so that I cancelled his future dietition appointments. :). He still requires his iron and Vit D liquids but We are hoping that hell be off them soon. He has follow up blood tests in about 2 months.

Weight/Height/Looks:
Jydan is about 8.4 kilos now, which is 18.5 pounds. He is growing really well now. I'm so proud! It's taking alot of hard work to get him to grow so it makes me ubbbber proud. He is fitting into size 0's now (6-12 month clothing) but still some 00's. It's mainly pants that are 0's. He is fairly tall for his weight.
Jydan has the most gorgeous face expressions. He can tell a whole story with his face. It's gorgeous.

Nappies:
It's been raining fairly bad at the moment so Jydan has only been in cloth nappies for about 80 or so percent of the time so I can catch up on washing. During the night and on Wednesdays he is in disposables. Gee, I can't believe how much disposables we go through in just that time. It's been hard trying to find a disposable that doesn't leak too. Jydan is a very heavy wetter, cloth are definately best for him.
He is now in medium cloth nappies and crawler disposables. Last month he was in small cloth and infant (one size up from newborn) sposies.

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:

Jydan absolutely loves his little teddy called Fred. He can't sleep without him and we oftern can't go out without him. If Jydan is a bit grizzly. Fred always fixes him. It's almost like a dummy! haha.
Jydan loooves standing up and trying to walk. It's his favourite thing to do. And now we can leave him standing holding onto things it makes things so much easier.
At the moment, Jydan is hating going to sleep!! After crawling around the cot, pulling himself up and down and having a sook. He won't just go to sleep anymore!
There's a TV show called 'chuggington' he ADORE's it!! We don't let him watch much TV but we let him watch this. It's about trains, kinda a modern version of Thomas the Tank Engine. We had the TV on one morning while I had a lay-in and realised how much he loved it! and that was it!

Feeding:

We are still breastfeeding!!! YEY! I'm so proud! Jydan has about 4-5 feeds a day. He also has about 4 solid meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner. We are doing more baby led-weaning these days but some meals we do pureed, especially breakfast so he can get more into him. His favourite food is rice rusks. He absalutely loves them.

Baby Jydan - 9 Months

Nine Months:
 35-39 weeks:
This month has quite possibly been the most funniest month! I'm just loving all the amazing things he is learning at the moment and there seems to be a new thing everyday. These babies brains are like sponges! I feel so incredibly proud of my little man. Not because of the amount of things he is learning but just because he is such a beautify scrumptious little man!
He is such a happy little man. He is always giggling and smiling. Especially when we play peak-a-boo! He is also super ticklish so if you can't get a giggle by doing something funny, you can just tickle him! I feel like a comedian around him though, he sure makes me super happy! I'm so happy to be his mum.

Teething:
Jydan shot up three teeth this month! Yey! Finally we have teeth! :D.
Jydan did really well with his teething actually. I am pretty surprised. He is just more exhausted and sleeps more often. Oh and he has this disgusting symptom of smelly wee. He gets it just about he is about to cut a tooth. It's so bad that we have to use disposables instead of cloth. It happened every time he cut a tooth.

Swimming:
Jydan is doing really well with his swimming. His strength is probably paddle and kicking and getting in the pool safely. I am really surprised at how quickly Jydan is picking things up. He has made a friend too, Felix. Felix' mum & I have coffee with our little boys beforehand and Jydan is getting really excited when he sees Felix. He squeals and jumps around. So precious!

Jydan's Milestones:

Jydan is slithering forward now, more like dragging himself on his belly to get a toy. He started on the day he turned 9 months. It's a big caterpillar crawl. He is very fast in going around in circles and backwards, But he isn't actually crawling.  He takes a few steps when he stands up if he's holding onto my hands so I think he is more interested in walking then crawling!
He is also really intellectual as well, he says 11 words now!!! He understands about twenty too. It astounds me. Especially when he says things like 'Book mum' when he is telling me he has a book. Yes, he is only nine months!
He has learnt to clap the last week too. It's so uncoordinated and precious.. he completely misses his hands, haha!

Reflux:
Jydan is totally off his reflux medicine!!! We completely weaned himself of his medicine. It took awhile and he still spews every now and then. Probably a couple of times - a few times a week. I'm SOO glad that it's one less medicine he is on. Thank goodness.
We were advised to keep him on until he was one, but we made the decision as parents to slowly wean him. It took about two months and we would cut out a little each day to see how he went. A couple of times we had to stop cutting it back until his system got use to it, and then cry again. Until official he was off! Best news for this month :).

Eczema:
Jydan's eczema is still lingering, we have good days and bad says and he has patches on his skin that are permanently there that we can't get rid off! But it is getting better. Hopefully he will grow out of it soon.

Routine:
Jydan is sleeping through the whole night now! I'm so grateful. I know when I go to bed I'm going to get a full nights sleep. It's an amazing thing ;). However, he wakes up earlier! Like around 6am! Oh well, I just have to go to bed a little earlier! Jydan is having 4 milk feeds in a 24 hour period, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. His meals are about 6 tablespoons and his afternoon tea is about a handful of finger foods.. toast, a mandarin, cubes of cheese or watermelon.. something along those lines.
Jydan is only having two naps now. Generally it's at 9-11 and 2-4 and then bed at 7pm :).

Sunday Craft Days:

We are having so much fun with our craft days and have done so many fun things.. Pasta necklaces, painting, drawling, handprints. My favourite was the finger painting with the painters tape to spell out his name. I'll write up a blog for crafts under one soon :).  This month I have shaving cream, vegetable paint, paint stamps and hand cast planned! It's going to be super fun :).

Health Clinic Appointment:
Jydan did REALLY well with his weight gain this month, we are soo proud. He is finally gaining brilliantly. And meeting all his milestones. He is really forward with his speech. :).. speaking about 11 words but around 5 all the time and has said a few two word sentences.

Paediatrician Appointment:
We missed our paeds app this month.

Weight/Height/Looks:
Jydan's hair is growing beautifully now, after loosing all his hair at about two months old he only has a little less then what he was born with. It's a beautiful orange colour/red colour. It's to die for! I'm biased though, it's my hair colour too ;)
Jydan is now 7.8 kilos, which is fantastic because our goal for his slow weight gain was that he would be 8 kilos by the time he is 12 months. And he is going to hit that probably by the time he is 10 months! I'm SO pleased. He is sitting at the 10th percentile for his weight now, so he's climbing back up, yeye! So proud. His height is on just average, so that's great! His poor teeny head isn't even on the scale yet, but I'm sure it will get there soon.
This month Jydan put on the most weight and grew the longest he has in probably 6 months! He definitely had a growth spurt and I think the Vit D is really helping :)

Nappies:
One of Jydan's terrible teething signs is smelly wee.. it's really really gross. I can smell it more in cloth so on days where he's about to cut we use sposies ;) haha! Especially at night. But he seems to be getting over that now, so we have gone back to cloth today. I don't think it will be long 'till we will be back in sposies again because I'm sure the 4th tooth is about to sprout at any moment!

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:
Jydans favourite toys at the moment is puzzles. He loves puzzles. He obviously can't do them yet but he likes to try. I sit down and do them with him sometimes and other times it's probably the only thing he will independently play with. He also absolutely loves his comfort teddy, Fred! He loves him so much it's soo dirty! haha! He can't sleep without it.
Jydan absolutely loves his friends. He gets soo excited. Like as if I keep him away from his friends for months, but he actually has the best social life. Probably why he gets so excited? He just loves little people. He can't contain himself. It's amazing to see :).
We absolutely hate nappy change at the moment.. both of us. He hates sitting on his back still, he just wants to roll away and I really hate holding him down. He just wants to go. I hate fighting with him.

Feeding:

9 months on and we're still breastfeeding! I'm so grateful! We are half way through to our 18 month goal,  we are so amazingly blessed! I have just started introducing morning tea, so Jydan is now having 4-5 meals a day depending on his naps :) and 4 breastfeeds.
