Ham & Cheese!

Best Memory Of This Month:

Setting up the tree & looking at Christmas lights!
And my brother Jyle's leavers dinner.

Child Health Nurse Appointment:

No Appointment this month :).

Doctors Appointment:
Jydan had a pretty bad temp and was a bit sick so had to have a doctors appointment, he is still recovering from his viral infection.

Paediatrician Appointment:
I think our next one will be in the new year.

Dietitian Appointment:
Jydan's was discharged from the dietetics department this visit, woohoo. One less lot of appointments to worry about!

Speech Therapy Appointment:

Jydan's next speech appointment will be in Feb. Until then we are working on some sign language.

Occupational Therapy Appointment:

Jydan had his huge sensory assessment a few days ago. I got more insight into his little world and more tips and strategies on how to deal with everything. Our biggest thing to work on is calming down before and after an activity. Our next appointment will be mid January.

Phyio Therapy:

Jydan had his physio appointment which went well, we have a new pair of shoes to try and help stable his feet. Jydan will be doing weekly physio next year for a few months.
Home Physio:

We are still maintaining swimming as part of his physio, but this week is his last week until Feb so we will need to do a few more things at home.

Swimming:

Jydan has just changed swimming days to a Saturday, which means a new teacher and friends! He is also going in with Dad most of the time too, which Dad's really enjoying as well! Jydan has started to swim by himself a little bit in the pool. Just a tiny bit, but getting there!

I can't believe Jydan's second birthday was a whole month ago now! Time really does fly.
The last month has been huge for Jydan's speech. It's like now we've started signing a little bit he was able to pick up more words. He's doing much better with his words now and started copying some too. He's learning to sing a little bit and especially loves 'Santa Claus is coming to town'.

We're struggling with working out if he does or doesn't want a nap at the moment, which means sometimes he's falling asleep at dinner time. It's SO cute! I have to share this video!!!

However the nights he wakes all the time, or doesn't go to sleep until midnight because he has had a nap, isn't as fun! lol.

Jydan is really looking forward to Christmas this year and really interested in Santa and the Christmas trees! We're just loving Christmas as a family this year, Jydan's at the perfect ago for it! ....Don't tell him that mummy hasn't been letting him have his advent calender chocolate's though ;)

I feel like my beautiful man just gets cuter & cuter each month and I'm developing the best relationship with him! I cherish every moment with him.. Well, except for those daily two year old tantrums he has been having!!

We did his two year old progress photo, but I'm not happy with it, so will do it again and show you all next month ;)

Tagged - Christmas Style.

Thanks Camille from a sorta fairytale for tagging me! How fun!

1. What do you love most about Christmas time?
I love soo many things about Christmas. I'm such a Mrs Claus!! But the things I love most about Christmas time is that we celebrate it the whole month of December :D

Definitely celebrate the holiday in style! I think I get stupidly annoying but yep, I get slightly Christmassy obsessed!

3. Are you leaving anything out for Santa Claus this year so he remembers to leave your presents?
Nah, I guess Jydan is still a bit little for that, maybe when he's a bit older? I didn't think about making it a tradition, but I don't want to over commercialise Santa in our family. If Jydan asks when he's older, we will :).

4. What is the one gift you are most looking forward to GIVING?{It can be to your kids, another family member, etc ~ remember to be discreet if they read your blog!}

I've already given out the gifts.. but I'm not sure really.. I get SO excited about giving gifts. I always find the most perfect gifts and then just can't contain myself. But Tim & I got each other a new bed for Christmas.. and that has been simply amazing!!!

5. What is your all-time favorite Christmas movie?

Santa Claus 3. I only watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't take my eyes off it. Such a fun and magical movie!

6. What is your all-time favorite Christmas song?

I'm loving 'River' this year! Such a sweet song, very untraditional though. Maybe Silent Night, that's such a pretty song :)

7. If given the opportunity would you participate in an "Ugly Sweater" party and what sweater would you wear? Peruse one on the internet or even in your own closet and show us!

Yes!! I would probably have to find one that shows off a bit of cleavage to make up for the ugliness but YES! lol.

8. Have you started any Christmas traditions this year that you plan on carrying forward?
I really wanted to go to church this year but we didn't get a chance to. Mainly because Jydan was up every 2 hours through the night and I was exhausted!! But hopefully we will do that next year :).

9. It's Christmas morning... What does it look like outside where you live?

It was really warm which was a nice change, it's been a slow start to summer this year, but Jydan was in a nappy and singlet some of the day and even got a little burnt (sad face :( )

10. You just found yourself standing under the mistletoe... Who comes up to give you a kiss first?

Jydan I reckon.. he won't let me put him down, so he would come crawling right up to me.. lol.

I'm suppose to tag people, but Christmas had been and gone now and it's all finished, so I had fun filling it out anyway :).

Christmas 2013

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

(Sorry I'm a day late)

Christmas was so fun this year! We all had the best time and all got really spoilt.. especially Jydan! Ugh! I really DO need a bigger place now!!! So we had a roast lunch at my Dad's with the family and then a roast picnic dinner at a park with my Mum and the family.
That night we kept Jydan up until about 9.30 because I didn't want the day to end!
Our picnic ended with me getting pushed into a water fountain and doing cartwheels on the grass.. was very fun!
Hope your Christmas was as magical as ours.
Here are some of my favourite photos from the day (and day before!)

Christmas Traditions..

Our Christmas Traditions...

Probably the best thing about having a new family is starting new traditions!!

Santa:
We have decided that in our family Santa will play a part in our family. While Mummy and Daddy buys the presents, Santa wraps the presents and delivers them.

I couldn't find a Santa tradition that I felt was perfect for our family. I wanted our children to know that we paid for the presents to give them an understanding that you don't get anything and everything they like, but I still wanted Santa. This is what my Nan did with her children!

Santa Photos:
Every year we will get a photo of our children with Santa done at Myer.

I loved looking back at last years Santa photo and this years and seeing how much our little man has grown. I can't wait to watch our whole family grow through our Santa photos.

Stockings:
We have our personalised stockings hanging that we have filled with small presents and lollies and chocolates. (Jydan's stocking has organic apple & carrot mini rice cakes and toys).

Stockings were probably the best thing about Christmas Day growing up. My parents would fill them the night before Christmas and the goodies inside would last us for months!!

Pajamas:
We have matching pajamas to wear for when Santa comes.

Last Easter we decided to do the Pajama tradition when we found out Jydan was lactose intolerant. So we started having pajama's instead of some chocolates. We thought we might as well do it for Christmas too.

Carols by Candlelight:
Carols is held about 10 days before Christmas, and we love going!

Tim & I's first date was at the Carols by Candlelight, 6 years ago!! So we go every year to celebrate, this will be our 7th carols.

Christmas Light Driving:
There are so many beautiful houses completely lit up by Christmas lights and we love driving around looking at them. There's often dressed up Santa's handing out lollies too.

I did this growing up and LOVED it. And when Tim & I got together we did this every year too. Can't wait to see Jydan's face!

Baby Jydan - 4 Weeks

Four Weeks Young:

I'm actually posting this when Jydan is 4 & 1/2 weeks. It has been a fairly hectic week and then followed by our first family vacation (which I will include in Jydan's 5 week post). So now I quickly type and polish this post with just three minutes to go until Jydan is due to wake! I can't believe Jydan is four weeks young! Time has gone so quick, I think I write that on every post and it still surprises me every week. My newborn is becoming a baby now!

Jydan's Milestone's:
My last post I mentioned that Jydan was 'thinking' about rolling, well, at 3 weeks and 1 day, while chucking a baby tantrum Jydan decided that he would roll from tummy to back!! Thinking it was a fluke, I didn't announce it but he has since done it five times in total! Here's the video as proof ;).
Jydan has also started smiling! His first smile was at 3 weeks and 4 days old! Those smiles just melt my heart.

Routine:
A few days this week Jydan hasn't followed his routine at all. He has actually had a few terrible days where he would not go to sleep at all, and then he's had amazing nights where he would sleep for six hours during the night. No matter what routine he follows though, he is an amazing little boy!! His new routine is though, 2-3 sleep/feed cycle's during the day, a 5-6 hour sleep during the night. I'm really happy with that! I'm actually really happy that I have a routine little boy. I like routine ;).

Weight/Height/Looks:
Jydan is now wearing mostly 000 (0-3 months) now. I really wanted him to wait till he was a month to wear 000's (0-3months) so his first 000 jumpsuit was worn the night he turned four weeks. He really needed to go in them a few days before but I had to wait!! So I've gone through his 0000 draw & taken out all his body suits, wonder suits, gro suits, & long sleeve tops. He still has 0000 shorts, tshirts & pants to wear. He has little legs! Sooo many clothes he didn't wear!!

My first hold of Jydan at an hour old, and Jydan
at four weeks old. He has changed so much!
(Jydan's also wearing his first 000 jumpsuit in
the bottom photo)
Jydan has started getting really bad dry skin, it was recommended to me to use breast milk on his dry patches. So quickly before a feed I rub in a bit of breast milk to his dry patch's, which is especially around his right eyebrow. It has worked brilliantly. I highly recommend trying this! It's just his scalp which is extremely dry still. I have tried everything, and I'm trying new products every bath.
We had Jydan's clinic appointment also, he now weighs in at 10 POUND 7 OZ!! I think I have steroids in my milk! His also now 53 cm, so his grown a cm and his head is 57.5... It was 54.5! Such a big bub. My little lamb chop ( he makes lamb noises in his sleep!!).

Clinic Appointment:
We had Jydan's four week checkup, I was sure she wouldn't believe us that he was rolling from tummy to back but she could see how strong he was and did! My mum, Tim and I guessed about how much he weighs now before the appointment... Mum and I guessed 9 pounds 5 ounces and Tim guessed 10 pounds. We were completely shocked that he was even MORE and now weighs 10 pound 7 ounces!
During his check's she said that he is still a little jaundice, I thought it had cleared up by now.

Jydan's Likes/Dislikes:
Jydan loves cuddles, he isn't really a baby that you can sit down and do things with - I've attempted rocking him in the bouncer with my foot and fold washing with my arms, this lasted for about 5 minutes until he wanted to be picked up. I don't mind, there will become a time when he doesn't want cuddles anymore. When he is having playtime he loves to be on his back. His favourite time is definitely bath time.
Jydan doesn't like being put in the capsule, he is fine when we get moving in the car but the capsule is probably the biggest thing he cries about, he also doesn't stay sleeping in it when he fall's asleep in the car so I think he finds it uncomfortable.

Nappies:
Jydan is in MCN's 90% of the time now, he uses a disposable during his long sleep at night and whenever else we think he may leek through. I'm really happy they now work with him, I was sure they wouldn't at one point!

Breast Feeding:

I am getting more and more confident with breastfeeding now and have done quite a few public feeds with this nursing nook. It's like a 'cape' and hides away my breast. This is me feeding in a cafe while having lunch! Jydan's going really well with his feeding and I'm quite proud that we have now mastered a month!
My lumps are getting better, not completely gone and I still have to massage some but it's definitely not as painful as it was.

Christmas:

Jydan's gorgeous santa photo for 2012!!
