Best Memory Of This Month:

JYDAN'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Child Health Nurse Appointment:

All went fine, he got his weigh in and measure, and a general check up. We are already seeing a speechie for his speech ect, so there isn't much else they could do.

Doctors Appointment:
No doctor's appointments.

Paediatrician Appointment:
Peads appointment would be coming up soon, but I've forgotten when!! Oops.

Dietitian Appointment:
Dietitian appointment on the 10th of December.

Speech Therapy Appointment:

Jydan's speech appointment went well, he is a fair bit behind in his speech now, but they aren't too concerned with it because he is trying. They said his speech is a bit 'slushy' which is why he's hard to understand, it is probably to do with his sensory issues and doesn't swallow his saliva as much as he should. We are starting to learn some signs to help him not get so frustrated with his lack of communication.

Occupational Therapy Appointment:

We've had a couple of phone appointments this month, and have a big meeting on the 15th of December to discuss his sensory issues in more detail. His eating had improved so so much with the tips the OT has given us in the last couple of months.

Phyio Therapy:

Appointment on the 15th of December as well. Physio thinks it may be possible he will need orthotics.
Home Physio:

We are still maintaining swimming as part of his physio, but haven't been to kindergym as much. Silly sick slack mummy!

Swimming:

Jydan has just changed swimming days to a Saturday, which means a new teacher and friends! He is also going in with Dad most of the time too, which Dad's really enjoying aswell! He has been doing okay considering there has been so many changes. We are going to start working on getting him more use to a pool noodle and kick board.

Now we have worked out more about what most of Jydan's tantrums are about (not being able to communicate) and put some baby sign in place, the tantrums have really become less frequent. We still deal with them alot... alot.. but not as much, and I guess were a bit more understanding now about them?
Learning baby sign language has actually helped Jydan heaps with his speech! Every word we focus on getting him to sign he ends up saying! That's how he learnt to say thank-you and drink!

Jydan has turned into the sweetest little daddy's boy, and he's always asking for Daddy and where Daddy is. He is pretty disappointed when he wakes up and Dad's already left for work (Tim starts at 5am sometimes), but is learning more and more about work. He often says now 'Dad, work'. Sometimes he needs reassurance through the day about where Dad is ect, it's the sweetest thing! And Dad's all he wants on weekends. I miss him being such a mummy's boy, but love that he's building that same relationship with his Dad too. He loves loves his Daddy. I think he's really enjoying his swimming time with Dad too!

Jydan is really loving playing with people now, if he wants to play with you he gets you a car or something for you to play with and shows you what he would like you to do. Usually it's him wanting to crash cars around - little boy stuff! ;). I think that's been the biggest change this month is he's really interested in playing. He's really really fun at the moment.

So my baby is two! I can't believe it! And think it's completely unfair how quick time is going. I feel so lucky that I've got to see him grow and learn and experience new things everyday. It's such a privilege to be the one that teaches him everything!
I love this guy to BITS!!!

Best Memory Of This Month:

Getting organised for his birthday next month! Yey! Jydan has helped put all the party bags together.

Doctors Appointment:
No doctor's appointments for Jydan this month.. but he was fairly unwell for about a week.

Paediatrician Appointment:
Peads appointment in another month or so.

Dietitian Appointment:
The dietitian called to tell us we had an appointment the next day! I couldn't get to it so it was cancelled. I don't want him seeing the dietitian anyway, it seems like a waste of our time.

Speech Therapy Appointment:

Jydan has an appointment next week!

Occupational Therapy Appointment:

We had an OT appointment last week over the phone to try and help with his eating, and we have another appointment in two weeks. We are working on a few sensory issues which is helping him eat better.

Phyio Therapy:

I keep forgetting to book his next appointment, so many appointments to remember!! But I'm a little bit concerned about how he runs, so will need to see them soon!
Home Physio:

We need to find some supportive boots for summer, his boots are so hot!

Jydan is trying to push the boundaries now he is coming up to two, it's coming up to all sorts of different challenges, and some days I find it really stressful. Oh gosh when he's sleeping soundly and beautifully, doesn't he make up for it! ;).

With his two year old challenges he is starting to try and control things, even where I sit. I think he just feels so many things at the moment, and trying to find who he is, that it's just too over whelming for him. His little personality has changed so much and I'm trying to adjust too!

Other then that, some days he can be the sweetest little thing.
He is learning so so much, that there's a whole world besides mummy! And that when Mummy says he can't do something, guess what? I can still try! (Like drinking the dog water!!!)

Jydan is learning so so much lately, after some delay with his speech, he seems to be picking it right up now! We are off to see the speech next week to see where he is at. I know all children develop differently, but considering he was so so forward with his speech, he said 30 words when he turned one! With 2 -3 word sentences, and then to just stop and go completely backwards is what the worrying thing is. It will be good to know too. Anyway, not only is he expanding his words, his problem solving skills are just going amazing too and through arts & crafts we are working on his hand eye co-ordination.

Jydan's really taken to that there is a baby in my belly now, he knows that Hungry Caterpillar stuff is for bubba, and he knows bubba is in my tummy, and that bubba has a heart we like to listen to. He loves to feed his dolly with a bottle, and is learning that the baby will also have milk from Mummy. He is going to be the bestest biggest brother!!

Jydan is completely and utterly obsessed with the movie Cars! It's actually banned at the moment cause he woke at 1am demanding to watch it, so nope, sorry buddy, it's off for a couple of weeks! I swear I know the whole movie off by heart!!!

I can't believe he is two so so soon! I'm going to spend the next few weeks obsessing over how quick time has gone and maybe have a little cry!

I thought about what I'm going to do with his monthly posts after he hits 24 months, is it too much posting these every month after two? But decided with all his appointments and everything else, it's so good to look back on, so I'm going to keep going with them! Enjoy ;)

Best Memory Of This Month:

I tried to do a few different fun activities with him this month to make up for the days I can't do anything. Painting with stickers and getting all messy was probably the best memory.

Child Health Nurse Appointment:

Just a weigh in, and booked in his two year old check as well as a dentist appointment.

Doctors Appointment:
No doctor's appointments for Jydan this month. :)

Paediatrician Appointment:
All went well at this appointment, even some weight gain! So next appointment isn't for another three months.

Dietitian Appointment:
I don't think I want Jydan to continue seeing the dietitian, sometimes it seems like we know more then her and have got some dodgy advice/

Speech Therapy Appointment:

He had an appointment for his eating a few weeks ago along with his OT, basically we have to put in a few extra steps to get him to eat and have a slow introduction to his eating.

Occupational Therapy Appointment:
He has a follow up appointment on the 14th :)

Phyio Therapy:

His next appointment will be in November/December.

Home Physio:

We need to find some supportive boots for summer, his boots are so hot!

I'm so behind, Jydan is more closer to 23 months now, which means he's super close to two!! And that's super scary! His invites are done, and party all organised, just have to do the loot bags now. Wow! My baby is almost TWO, now I'm going to cry like a baby!

He certainly isn't acting like a baby anymore either, with his big words and his big boy bed, he's just huge! He has a gorgeous personality that's shone through though. He hasn't hit the terrible twos yet and is seriously one of the best behaved boys I know. I'm sure the time will come, so for now I am utterly enjoying him listening, obeying, hugging, loving, cuddling, cleaning up, imagining, playing, and everything else.

I've said it before, but I just love how this boy loves. He adores things, and when he finds something he loves, he loves the crap out of it. Like the colour yellow at the moment, and Disney cars! He gets ridiculously in love with things and loves hard. This boy will be the most amazing partner one day.. but lets not think about that, he isn't even two!

Paediatrician Appointment:
A little bit of weight loss... and the pead has referred Jydan to get a hearing test because his speech has dropped off so dramatically. Hopefully all is okay. His heart murmur is only very mild too, so that's excellent news!

Dietitian Appointment:

He's back on the waiting list because his speechy has changed jobs.

Home Physio:

Jydan's ankle is improving a lot lately. We've bought some new supportive boots and I think they have helped a fair bit.

Wow! This darling boy makes me so proud, with everything he does.. he doesn't have to do anything really. He's just such a beautiful little man. Although he has his 'terrible two' moments, and his 'red headed' moments, he can be such a content, happy, cuddly, soft and loving hearted little boy. I could say so much things about him. He has the most amazing eyes, with the most gorgeous complexion, with the most gorgeous hair. Add that with his soft, cuddly nature and it's not hard to fall in love with him.

Jydan went into his big boy this month, and has been doing SO well. He hasn't got out of bed once. Only gets out if we ask him to, or if we come get him. I can't believe it. I didn't think it would be so easy. He sleeps so well in it too... like three hours through the day! He has never slept so long in his life. Sometimes he sleeps for FOUR hours! I am so amazed! Gorgeous little man.
